Wow! Ok I have a dumb question. Kt & Juanital, for these particular shots are you using the auto mode?

Kt and Juanita, those are gorgeous photos. Even if I made it out of bed there are too many trees in our neighborhood to get a good shot of a sunrise.

Juanital, that is beautiful! I like the way your filter makes the sun spike the rays outward.

Cameragirl, I used the automode on mine, but sometimes have to adjust the shutter speed to get good colour saturation.

I can do this manually by setting the camera to a desired length of time, or this can be done by pointing the camera at a brighter or dimmer area of the sky depending on if you want more or less light in your picture, then hold the shutter button down halfway. This locks in the setting until you take your picture or release the button. Next, I point the camera at the desired area and push the shutter button all the way to capture the photo.

Gmom, yes, I too have too many trees in and around my yard, so I have to go out into the pasture or drive down the road to see a sunrise/sunset. You and Konrad may not get up early enough, and I envy you both since I am NOT a morning person at all. However, work calls, and I get up everyday at 5:30, but the sun doesn't rise until about 6:45, when I'm on my way to work.

Cameragirl, I used auto mode also and I may have slightly zoomed. I did as Kt has explained above with the shutter button...I still don't quite understand how to do the manual adjustments, though...
