talk with a cpa or accounting firm to do your taxes-- let them figure it out. i worked in one year for 2 different companies in a total of 5 states, with a total of 3 "home addresses" and in one state worked in 4 different cities with 4 different city income tax rates with in a regional income tax sharing district, but lived in a 5th city with a different tax rate that was not part of the tax district had a wife who worked for the same company in 2 states at different tax rates and had children before the end of the year. I bundled it all up and gave it to the tax guy recommended by my Certified financial planner. He only charged me $180 dollars tro do all the taxes for everything. I've dumped the CFP but still use the same CPA.

Hi cmarlin20, Real estate growth may be free, where you are - but it ain't here. With one exception - if it's an owner-occupied house. Otherwise, when you liquidate, deduct what you paid (plus improvements), figure out the capital gain ... ... and pay tax at regular rate on half of it. And, since many real estate situations are large, part of that taxable amount may well push you into a higher tax bracket. And - how do you manage it? If it's a small situation, do you like getting calls at 2 a.m. relative to plugged toilets? Having folks abscond at midnight, having not paid rent? Or having a large hassle psuhing them out, for non-payment of rent? And possibly having to deal with a wrecked property, as well. Or - you can pay a property manager ... which eats up a good portion of your profit. If you're part of a large project, there'll be property managers to pay ... often set in place by the original developers, who arranged for the deals to pay both of them well, even if not so hot for the (suckers?, in many cases) who bought into the situation. No. The equipment rated today to meet the tax credit qualifications does not include your current furnace or coil, so they would not even be found in the AHRI database. The current indoor coil you have now would not properly match up to any new outdoor condenser (and should not be re-used if you replace the outdoor unit you have now). The coil you have now is rated 10 SEER, and the minimum today is 13 SEER (they must be compatible, i.e. 10 SEER/10 SEER and 13 SEER/13 SEER).

About interest, if the financial instution sent only a report of items to report and no official forms, then enter the data on the appropriate form(s). The report tells you which boxes to enter various data. Carefully enter the data exactly as shown. The institution has already reported this data to the IRS. If your return is one of the randomly selected ones for initial screening, I suspect that an automatic comparison is made between your reported data and that reported by the institution.
