Conifer50, good to hear your yellow Table mnt pines have survived. The most aromatic conifers I have are Green Giant arborvitaes and Table mnt pines. I can detect them just by getting downwind, even in cold weather. TMP aroma has a hint of danger to it, tho -- like "OK to smell, but don't eat!"

Is it okay if I show you a couple more things? This is Cramoisi Superieur, a frilly red and very nicely scented China. I took the picture by sticking my camera through the chain link fence. I've got the best neighbors! They let me plant things over there when I run out of room in my yard. Look at all the buds! It never stops blooming ... Columbines are wild this year. This is another cross of the yellow 'Hinkleys columbine' and the dark purple 'Little Winkie columbine' ... I didn't even know I had these until I spied something pink deep within the rainforest of 5 ft. tall Larkspurs. They are Byzantine Gladiolas and my friend, Linda M., said she probably passed them along to me. Brave little fellas to show up amongst the giants ... I just remembered after reading these posts about a picture DH took. He and Ricky were looking for bugs to take pictures of and Ricky starting yelling "I found a double bug papa" ...this is what he found...to this day he thinks it's a rare double bug thanks to papa! I just hope he never talks about his "rare" find at school and the teacher want to see this picture! These moths were huge!

Plants like this have shown up in stores where I live (SW Florida) under the name "Aloe Pinto," the pinto part apparently being a reference to the "speckles" on the plant, like the markings on a pinto. I found a couple of references to it online and so I presumed it was an Aloe and treated it like that. But it has not done well with too much sun. Mine does much better with a little direct morning sun and then bright but indirect light the rest of the day. So, my guess is part Gasteria.
