Sorry Michael. I incorrectly perceived your intent. I thought you were egging your peach blossoms on. I also use Kocide 2000, and measure about 1 1/2 tablespoons per gallon with a small coffee scoop. Peach blossom buds usually precede leaves, but not by much. When the blossoms begin to open, there are usually small leaves beginning to appear as well. Once those tiny leaves are there, I stop spraying or the leaves will be damaged. Up to that point, I have no problem applying Kocide at what I consider to be a fairly strong rate, though one calculated by trying to translate the byzantine instructions of the insert. I have used Kocide for 5 years now, and so far the earthworms do not seem to notice. Because of all the stable manure I truck in, earthworms are about to take over the whole place. Only the ducks are much of a threat, and the little waterfowl watch for me to walk out with a spade, then fly or run over to look up at me until I begin to dig. It is a terrible thing to watch ducks completely lose control of their judgment, but that's what happens. Don Yellman, Great Falls, VA

Jeanne, I have two baker's racks outside, one is a corner unit--but neither look nearly as cute as yours with your collections and vignettes. I need to work on mine I think. That is so neat that you do the Farmer's market too. Candy, I'm another one who does tablescapes for my "imaginary" friends. DH will only eat at the table when we have company--rest of the time he prefers to eat in front of the tv. Karen, I didn't do a table, but I did glue a little cheese tray and glass dome on a pedestal and decorate it--can I get any points for that? ;o) Kathleen, the rooster napkins like in your photo that you shared with me are some of my favs. We don't do sit down breakfast often, but I like to just sit the table and display them on the plates because they look so cute.

Maryl the color of ALA's second image is really close to being true to the color of the actual real bloom Shive , yes I have hostas growing all over . They are great increasers . I usually start them with 3 roots and by the second season they are a clump. My favourite though out of all of them is Hosta clausa var. clausa. This blooms a deep deep purple but the blooms never open . It is stoloniferous. Here is a picture of Clausa's blooms , Intense Purple but the blossoms never open . It increases underground I guess that's why it is not important to have any insect pollenate the blooms .

Actually, a gift card to our local nursery is an excellent idea. She's pretty particular about her plants, but she does love hanging baskets and items for her porch. IdaClaire, we get my mil a hanging basket every year for Mother's Day. This year our favorite greenhouse made a website, so customers can place their orders ahead of time and then pick up curbside. mtnrd, it's the same here, in our part of Alberta. Only one person from each household/family is allowed at the greenhouses and nurseries. One place is allowing two shoppers max in each greenhouse.
