Theme of the week...

Here is a thought, let's have the person naming the the "theme" change. I propose that whoever happens to post first in the weekly theme thread gets to name the theme the next week.

For instance, Crunchpa as the first poster last week would do it this week?

What sez the group?

Another crooked picture. Really, I take a few that are not crooked. Gulls were chasing this boat down. Guess it was stirring up some kind of bait fish. Out of Empire, La. in the Gulf. Very imaginative, people. Crunchpa, leave it to you to come up with a zebra! Ron, I've said it before, but I love your lath house. Kate, no wonder you came up with this theme. That's the stripiest picture! I'm a little dizzy from all these stripes, but let me see what I can find...... Okay, I see stripes on the face of this sunflower, don't you? Stripes, sort of. Omigosh, these dogs are wonderful! Foosacub, I've been through this many times with many dogs and many cats (if that makes me sound old, I suppose it's appropriate), and it never gets any easier. But one thing about losing a very elderly dog who has been in a slow decline is that you do a lot of your grieving in advance. Years after Thunder was hit by a truck, and Thor was shot, and Music disappeared, and Mystic drowned in the pool, I can barely speak of them without getting tearful. The shock of sudden death adds a lasting dimension. But knowing I made the decision for Angel at the best possible time for her has given me immeasurable comfort. Now I just hope I can do the same for Wolfy. Capone is a perfect name for your brindle. He looks absolutely triumphant at his graduation! Txken, how very sweet! Pam, Zoe is adorable.....and I'm afraid you're right about Nicky. No more pictures for him. But so cute!! Konrad, mother looks as tough as son. Or tougher! A sleek, healthy pair. Gmom, now the rule is that you have to go adopt a dog of your own. Crunchpa, quick! Look over there at that naked woman!! (While I lure Scout into my car.)

Here's one from my dad's collection: a wedding from the 1940s. The woman in black is quite a contrast to Carol's Red Hatters. I'm sitting here (at work) in my jeans, wondering if she's younger than I. Hard to tell. I'd also like to know what the last man on the right is staring at. LOL

"Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens (70 acres) is a notable country estate, with gardens, located in Akron,Ohio. The estate was built between 1912 and 1915 for F. A. Seiberling, founder of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He gave it the name Stan Hywet, Old English for stone quarry, to reflect the site's earlier use and the most prominent feature of the Estate."

Thanks! I was recently at Longwood Gardens in PA and had a wonderful time. It had been at least 10 years since I was last there. They have beautiful water features too.
