Well, it isn't as easy to just put the eggs in the pond. I took the basket and shook it as hard as I could over the water of the pond and with the exception of a few eggs, the rest were, well let's just say glued on. There were a few leaves in the basket and they had eggs on them so I put them in a separate tank (50 or so eggs). I tried to scrape some off the basket but it has little holes everywere and it just turned into a pain in the butt. I finally got tired and blasted them with the jet option on the garden hose. If even 20% of the eggs that I saved hatch there is no way I can keep them in my pond. Orfe get fairly big and I already have 4. Let's see what happens over the next week or so.

'U' are preaching to the choir here...

There are a lot of news stories on it, and even a website devoted to sludge issues. Here is a story from OCA and the link to Sludge News. The People Who Want You to Believe Toxic Sludge Is Good for You Members of the Organic Consumers Association staff went undercover to a meeting of San Francisco Public Utilities Commission employees and the toxic sludge industry last week. What we found surprised us. We figured, in such a green city, that SFPUC employees would keep an arms length distance from for-profit sludge companies like Synagro that make their money dumping city sludge on rural lands. We thought that they would be trying to figure out green alternatives to flushing waste away with clean drinking water. Little did we know. SFPUC, Synagro and CASA, the state lobbying group for all of California's city sewer commissions, are mounting a coordinated effort to salvage the business-as-usual practice of flushing household and industrial waste away with clean water and then contaminating farmland with toxic sludge leftover when the water is removed. They see San Francisco's sludge giveaway program as an essential component of their national campaign to build public acceptance for the disposal of toxic sewage sludge on yards, gardens and farms. They will fight any effort to shut the program down, and specifically named OCA allies the Center for Food Safety and RILES, who filed a legal petition with the San Francisco to stop the sludge giveaway, as enemies of their campaign. The scary thing is, this public-private trifecta is well-resourced and unscrupulous. The Synagro rep boasted of earning the support of a local university for a toxic sludge project by promising a $25,000 yearly donation. The CASA rep talked about using "Congressional funny money" to fund studies that would provide science that backed-up the industry. And, the SFPUC rep, the public employee, stood by them smiling and nodding as they applauded her for not backing down in the face of public opposition to the contamination of San Francisco's green space with toxic sludge. http://salsa.democracyinaction.org/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=EeX%2Fe1RJUWKt8QhKYN%2BukBxKH%2BWklaGt Click the link to read more. Yo Ken, if your still around your up on this one. Far as Composites go I am with the Larry/whoever We are for the most part. Composites are really no longer using recycled material because there is just not enough of it so most of the raw stuff is virgin, the energy used to make composite is an enviro no no, when its time to remove the project composite is not real big on bio degrade its tricky to burn shreading it would be silly. Bottom line composites are not so enviro freindly. Info like that might suggest its not all that good to clean it either, with anything. I dont agree>> composites will out last Ipe, left to go silver/gray Ipe is as close to no maintance as a person can get. With the softer composites like Choice/MoistureShield even trex= tjunk I have found a coat or two of TWP 116 seals up the decking, locks in the color and keeps mold, mildew, stains from causing major problems. Of course not needing to do this is the reason the Wallet goes for composite in the first place. I my own self dont like composites at all for the reasons stated in several posts here and on other sites. Welcome aboard Larry!!! Sorry I dident understand your intent at the begining . John
