You probably have your new printer by now...but if you don't ... Canon. I was a devoted HP printer fan. After my first digital Canon, and the little digital photo printer that made real photo postcards...not inkject, but layered laminated photos, I became a Canon nut. They don't make much, but what they do make, they make well. Canon was the thorn in Xerox's side for office copiers long ago. I not only have their little photo printer that goes with their digital cameras, but I have their all-in-one scanner-copier-printer. My MP750 was dirt cheap at 129.00 because Canon is bringing out their new models. This copier makes photos look better than the originals when scanned...it is an inkjet, though. What I can do with that machine is scary. If you want to go even cheaper, the MP 390 is now only 99.00, (originally 200.00) it has all the standard inputs for flashcards and media, plus it is a fax, it however lacks a document feeder which is sorely missed when there are 200 or more sheets to copy. I have the MP 390 also...great little machine. These great prices I found at Amazon...Love the 750 (and individual ink cartridges for color...no more having to buy a large color cartridge when you only run out of one color!) the MP 780 is basically the 750 with a fax. marf Here is a link that might be useful: Canon photo-printers

I would check the manual that came with the printer for recommended photo papers. Cheap isn't always best and results may differ from print to print. I have never owned or used a Dell printer, but I'm sure they have recommended paper types like Epson, HP etc. Also using approved inks for your printer can make a difference. All-in-one printers generally are not the best for photo printing anyway. You could always put your photos on a cd and take them to be printed if you do not want to invest in a regular photo printer for quality prints.

I have an Epson Stylus PHOTO 2200, and I would not trade it for anything in the world. I purchased it so that I could make enlargements, up to 13 X 19 inches. The quality is superb, but I rarely make print size pictures with it although it is set up for that, and even accepts a roll of printing paper, and cuts it to length as it prints. We have a smaller version of the same Epson Stylus at work, but I do not know the number off hand, but it only cost $59.00, and the picture quality is the same, but it only prints sheets up to 8.5 X 14, but for an all around office printer, it is great. For a few dollars more, you can get it to take an SD card directly, instead of going through your computer. The photo ink cartidges can be replaced individually, so when one colour runs out, you don't have to replace the whole ink cartidge, just that individual colour. One note though, the ink carteidges is where some expense come in, but I have been able to print dozens of 11 X 14 photos before replacing any cartridges. If you want a lot of prints made on a regular basis, you may want to look into sending to an internet photo service or take them to a photo shop and have them made, just for simplicity if nothing else. Good Luck Kt

There are several nice printers out there. I personally like Epson printers. They are generally less expensive than other brands and I've had three and all have been great for photos. I use them for mainly enlargements. Kt
