Dorothy...I was out shopping tonight, but not for Christmas gifts!!! I needed potting soil for my brugs....the roots are wanting soil! I beat the genie on author Joseph Heller. He eventually guessed Rupert Murdoch after at least 4 wrong guesses, but that was with me not actually knowing the answers to some of his questions (I really don't know much about the guy but somehow his name popped into my mind and I thought it might be a tough one to guess). My DH was amazed because the genie so quickly guessed both Mickey Mantle (very easy) and Nolan Ryan (harder but still had it well within 20 questions). Maire Cate, RE: the MOVE group in Philly - my family still uses the expression from one of the trials. The Judge told the defendant to settle down & that he was skating on thin ice. He replied "Judge, you must be hallucinating 'cuz I ain't skating on nothing".

I don't have any minifloras and the game seems to be at a stopping point. so maybe no one else does either? I am going to jumpstart with one of my very first roses purchased in early 70's that started my addiction, I mean collection: Snowfire, Red blend hybrid tea. unfortunately lost it a few years ago

Kt, It grows in the same habitat, blossoms same time of year and has almost identical divided leaves...

It is of the Dicentra family...and the link shows the Dicentra Canadenis is there...same as photo...The book I am using is 'Wildflowers In Color' by Arthur Stupka w/assistance of Donald Robinson...identifies it as being in the 'poppy family', doesn't give scietific name....

So Eric, Dicentra family is correct but it is canadensis...your still pretty good!

Do you study plants and their scientific names? and how on earth do you begin to even decide what to look for?

the above book has more than 250 wildflowers incolor, primarily about flowers of Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Shenendoah Park copyrighted 1965...I'm sure there are lots of newer field guides that are up to date...but it has helped me identify quite a few plants in my area...cos it's not so huge that I can't go picture by picture...
