dcclerk, just thought I'd throw this out--I was at an open house last week at a home that was 2.8 M and their interior doors had a transom above the door but with no glass, except for the bathrooms and toilet rooms. It looked pretty cool. I had never seen that idea before.

It's usually best to choose the right color of white for interior trim and doors based on existing window casing color, plantation shutters (if there are any), existing white cabinetry, toilet, tub, counter top color. Those elements inform which color of white is the right one. There isn't a color of white that just magically goes with everything. With that said, Sherwin Williams Extra White is a nice, clean but not too stark color of white. Just be careful it doesn't make the color of any fixed element look dingy.

There were a lot of houses built in the middle of the last century in the US with cheap, hollow core flat panel doors. When people refer to cheap flat panel doors that's what they're thinking of. As the previous posters have shown, there are more expensive, very attractive flat panel doors available. Maybe not at big box stores, but if you live in a major metro area you should be able to find them somewhere locally. The price of lumber has been all over the place the last two years, and while it's not at its peak, it's still high as compared to pre-pandemic, so be prepared for sticker shock.

The vaulted ceiling peaks at 13 feet, I believe. We wanted skylights and for the room to feel spacious given its diminutive size. I had been in two other houses with this design and loved them. Almost didn't vault the kitchen but my mother, who may live there one day, really, really wanted the kitchen vaulted as well. I generally agree about corner fireplaces and the rendering shows it sticking out further than it actually will. The hearth will serve as additional seating. There isn't a sectional, it's a sofa with a side table and two chairs. I will only have one chair in the corner, though, not two. The 10x10 room will not have a queen bed in the traditional sense - I agree, that would be very tight. The daybed space cantilevers out 2.5 feet and will have a queen mattress with drawers underneath and built in bookcases / drawer storage flanking it. That frees up some space on the far wall for a little desk or dresser, as the bed will only extend into the 10x10 space by about 2.5 feet, 3 at the most. It is a bit unconventional but I like the flexibility it provides the space.
