I don't think you can add a shower to the pool bath -- not in the current footprint. I do think the pool bath looks awfully minimal. I'd consider taking in the adjacent linen closet so that at least the doors don't come within inches of touching one another. Since this bath isn't for actual bathing -- thus, less storage is needed -- I'd go with a pedestal sink; I'm not a huge fan of them overall, but in this mini-bath, it'll enlarge the room visually. You have the safe room -- admittedly, we don't have those in my area, so I really don't "get it" -- but I see that right next to it you have an essentially same-sized laundry room. I'd consider building the laundry to "safe room code" so that it could function as a laundry every day . . . but in an emergency, it IS your safe room. If you store emergency supplies (i.e., water) in the safe room, you could easily install shelves above the hanging space and use that area for emergency items. It'd save you some square footage . . . and you might get those his and hers closets without sacrificing anything from your plan. I'm not usually quick to jump on the "this house'll be so dark" bandwagon -- but I think this house's public areas are going to be dark. Between the foyer and bedroom covering the front side and the covered porch filtering light in from the back side, you'd better invest in good lighting! I also second the idea of widening the pantry. I personally like the idea of a small-to-moderate sized kitchen, but it only works when you have ample pantry nearby for storage. Your pantry is okay as is, but if you add just ONE MORE FOOT of width, you'd almost double your storage space. It's a huge value /bargain in the world of square footage. I don't see how you can pass that up. That outdoor fireplace is nice, but it's a very expensive luxury -- several thousand dollars, even when backed up against the other fireplace. Lots of people say they never use theirs -- are you sure you will? Like a number of other people, I think the playroom is a disaster. It's going to be dark, and it has too many doors -- furniture placement will be essentially impossible. I understand the idea of wanting a "kids' living room", but I don't see this one working out nicely. Thumbs up on the kids' bedrooms (though I think I'd double the windows in #2 and #3). Good size, good closets, good bathroom access.

When the Prep & Cooking Zones are so far apart like this, a prep sink is usually needed to make the zones work efficiently...sometimes just to function at all! Right now, you have to cross a very wide aisle (> 7 feet) and through a very busy thoroughfare just to empty a pot of boiling water. Not very safe! Nor very functional! The reason NewbieRemodeler's layout works so well is b/c she has the Prep & Cooking Zones together (the prep sink on the peninsula) and her Cooking Zone and range are protected from traffic (again, the peninsula does this). Also, notice how much workspace she has in the right places...around the range and on the peninsula. Your workspace is very spread out and you do have a lot of it, but it's not in the right places. Ideally: Prep Zone...works best when it contains a water source and is next to or across an aisle no more than 48" wide or so from the Cooking Zone. Trash & recycle bins should also be in the Prep Zone. If across from the Cooking Zone, the aisle b/w them should not be a busy aisle (i.e., no through-traffic and very little other kitchen traffic). Cooking Zone...works best when next to/across from the Prep Zone (see Prep Zone). It's also nice to have a water source nearby as well as trash & recycling nearby. Cleanup Zone...works best when separated from the Prep & Cooking Zones. This can be on the opposite side of the sink in a one-sink kitchen from the Prep Zone or it could be in a completely separate location (the latter usually only works well if you have two sinks). Obviously, it also needs a water source and the DW. Right now, you have the Prep & Cooking Zones separated by an aisle more than 7 feet wide...much too far. While having the Prep & Cleanup Zones together isn't bad (see above), in this situation it doesn't really work. Here's one idea that might work. I have other ideas, but I don't have time right now to draw them up...I'll work on it some more later, if you like. [Let me know.] One idea, btw, is to switch the table and kitchen...but that depends on how high off the floor the bay window is as well as how flexible you are with water, etc. Are you open to a banquette? A banquette might solve some problems regardless of the table/kitchen configuration. So, how high off the floor is the bay window? .. [You could reduce the prep sink to an 18" sink base and gain those 6" for either an 18" cabinet on the left or a 21" cabinet on the right.]

Get rid of the muffin top island portion and just square it up. Small kids and older people alike find it difficult to climb onto bar height stools. Counter height is better. The thing not shown, and that is VITALLY important, is how the island fits into the space, with it's clearances. Really from the measurements that you show, (168") you don't have room for the seating that you show. You need a minimum of 48" between the island and that fridge, and that's with no seating, and a counter depth fridge. For the major traffic way, you're gonna have to account for people going through there, and that needs at least 54", and you'll still bump into people sitting there when carrying something. Take that 168" and minus the perimeter counter with the counter depth fridge there at 30". You now have 138" to work with in the middle of your U. Subtract the needed aisle space of 102 for both sides of the island. . You only the 36" cabinet, and that's not counting the standard overhang. And that's with no seating. If you want seating on one side the room you have left for the cabinet is a 15" cabinet, with 15" of overhang. Sure, you can narrow things down, and have people squeeze their way through THE major traffic path into the home, but why would you do that on a new build? Same with the pinch point around the fridge. If you don't have 48" of room in front of your fridge, you'll have created a congestion zone. This kitchen would be much better traffic zoned if you switched the legs, and then created a peninsula out from the wall by the dining area for your seating, and put a prep sink in it.

Not sure what wall tile you are referring to but neither of those look good with that floor. IMO keep the walls simple never more than one tile pattern in a space and in this case a 12 x24 plain porcelain tile for shower walls and the rest either the same or no tile you do know that the floor in the bathroom needs to be waterproof and IMO the same tile as on the shower walls since you have chosen no curb in the shower the whole space becomes a wet room.
