Bottlecap pincusions

I found two sites one give a pretty good tutorial on making them the other shows how the elastic looks threded thru the bottom

I didn't men to steal from Flamingo's thread about pincushions

    Dang, I posted on this but it didn't show up.

    Minnie, the ones in that first tutorial are so cute! Like little cupcakes or jewels, put some elastic on them and you'd have a functional but pretty ring! Or several and make a bracelet! Or give to little girls just as something pretty to set around. I love these!

    Minnie...years ago when I was doing the craft shows...I made the pin cushion with the elastic to wear as a ring...

    The ones I made used the old metal caps...so that might tell you how long ago it was...lol

    I used the elastic that is round like a string but thicker.

    Made lots and lots of them. All different colors and sizes of elastic.

    I sold them for a dollar apiece.

    Patti that is the kind I made I can't find the one I saved. I don't do much sewing anymore but it is around here somewhere. I also made pincushions out of the pull off plastic lids from spray cans. did them much like the little ones in the directions filled them with plaster of paris and used and covered the old style of styrofoam ball that you could stick pins into. I think gals also used tuna cans too .
    They were so much fun to do
