This isn't exactly about cleaning floors, more about keeping them nice once they ARE clean. I have dark walnut (think chocolate bars . . . ) engineered hardwood floors throughout the house, except for kitchen, baths, entry. They don't get 'dirty' per se, but, honestly, I don't think there is a person on this planet who could keep them dust-free. They get dusty in just a couple of days. Perfect solution? Roomba. He chugs all over, all by his little self. His HEPA filters catch ALL the dust. There is even noticeably less on the furniture. I guess that's because Roomba vacuums it up instead of just flinging it around everywhere the way a regular vacuum does. This is, of course, starting with a floor that's basically clean. If someone comes through and leaves a footprint, a damp cloth takes it right up. The tile is dealt with by Braava, Roomba's sister. As for the OP's question, I vote for taking up as much of the Murphy's as possible with warm water. Rinse, rinse again, then follow with the Glass Plus. Skate around on towels to wipe up the leavings.

I love love murphy beds. Let's face it, sofa beds are hard as a rock for a sofa and impossible to sleep on those awful mattresses. The only sofa bed worth anything is from American Leather, which is on the high end. You get the best of both worlds with murphy beds because it has a very comfortable regular mattress which is made up before closing and saves an incredible amount of space. I specify them all the time and my favorite is Clei available from Resource Furniture. The Clei system has a beautiful sofa and the bed comes down over it. Available in different style sofas and wall units with lights and storage. If floor space is an issue, take a look at murphy beds which come out horizontally. The projection when opened extends 70" into the room as opposed to a 90" for a vertical bed (the head at the wall). The horizontal bed is only about 67" in height and not to the ceiling, so the cabinet is not so imposing. Another approach is to search craigslist in your area. People are always moving up from a studio and deals are to be had! It hasn't been installed yet. The company that is making/installing the bed is asking me which of the approximately 6 million handle/knob styles to choose. I know I want something on the simpler side, it's the metal color that is giving me great great pause. LOL
