Peter: It is a whole other world taking pics like that during the day. My friend is trying to figure that out although he gets some great cloud formations before and after the storms. Nice work. I hope to see more pics by you. Jojo: I have heard the monsoons can be quite dramatic! I have even seen the storm drains dug all around the outskirts of peoples home but never saw them fill up. I can only imagine that. I have seen lightning from a distance and been very frustrated chasing them because the roads there a long and straight with no way to turn down another for miles to catch up to it..lol Been there done that. Have you ever seen lightning drop from the clouds over the prairies or horizon? It must be majestic! It is nice to meet Peter. It is always nice to see new faces. I would never come there without visiting some very nice people here if the offer is there. Going there to see people I know would be so nice. We would have to visit the Indian Reservations though, Saguaro Cactus Preserve, and look for turquoise jewelry..lol I have danced with the Navaho tribes once before! I hope many others come here with nice pictures. I would of loved to have sene the hail storm ones that some here have experienced! Mike

Thanks, everyone. Still not sure why not ALL the pics are showing up, but too tired to figure it out tonight. dianalo, that's actually not a Domsjo. The Domsjo is a really nice sink, but I didn't like that it sat above the counter, so we paid the extra for a Belle Foret undermount farm sink. It was pricier and necessitated modifying the base cabinet and therefore doing a curtain underneath the sink instead of doors, but I'm really happy with it. I think I like the curtain better than I would have liked the doors. As for the tin backsplash ... it's a temporary fix. I like it a lot, and may yet decide to keep it, but the plan has always been to do white subway tile 2/3 of the way up the wall (basically to the height of the range hood). But for now, it's really functional, easy to clean, and gives a little visual interest to what might otherwise be a pretty boring little kitchen. And since it's a kitchen in a 1921 house, the tin "feels" right in the same way that the subway tile will "feel" right when we get around to doing it. It was only $200 and maybe an hour of work to do. I'll try to take some better pics that encompass more of the kitchen tomorrow. There's a "hutch" on the opposite wall that wasn't included in these pics. Thanks for looking! I hope it helps. If you want pics of anything else, let me know. When we started this, NO ONE had pics of Corian Rain Cloud, so I know how scary it can be to second guess yourself and wonder if you made the right call.

Thanks, everyone. Jan, I have Photoshop Elements 3 and use their cloning tool to take all sorts of stuff out of some pictures. Cloning is a way to substitute surrounding background, color, pattern, etc. for the offending eyesores in pictures.
