Tornado!

One of the Georgia tornados touched down a bout a mile and a half from us the other night and we have been without power till this morning. A tree in our back yard toppled but that was the extent of our damage- other people were not so lucky. I don't ever want to be that close to one again. That was scary. I didn't even hear the siren, which is a little over a quarter of a mile away, till it was all over.

Lucky you! Tree and some power off is a near miss. I feel so bad for the folks that have been victomized by these horrible storms lately. We have no storms of that magnatude here in eastern Massachusetts. I once was taken back by a story a traveler pipe fitter told me. A tornado came through and leveled he and his wives chicken business in SC. The trama was so great it later resulted in divorce. From this I know even though the storm has left, The aftermath can be devastating. Keep safe!

Hello RWStipe, I would also appreciate a section of the Baker Professional 612P - 6 HP manual. I believe I am missing a piece of the carburetor linkage. I believe it is from the on/off handle to the throttle. Are there any carburetor diagrams? Thank you

I was watching the Ryan Hall's channel on YouTube as it was happening, and praying for Iowa. I always watch his channel to keep up with the weather ahead, and as it's happening. It was so heartbreaking to hear about those people dying, especially the children. Prayers for all those affected by the tornadoes. My state lost 74 people in tornadoes in December 2021, so I know how devastated Iowa feels right now.

Trees after a tornado

if i knew you better.. i would voice a lot of cussing on your behalf... as long as your trees are large enough to fall on anything.. like the house.. then there is no fear about the lack of roots .. once they hone in on threatening something.. im not sure i would ever feel secure about them ... in theory they should regrow a root mass sufficient to hold them selves up.. barring another tornado ... but im not sure i could sleep at night.. if they were overhanging the house ... ken

Thank you guys for checking. The Rolling Fork tornado which has now been designated as EF-4 was several hours southwest of me. The other town to be significantly hit was only an hour away. We got wind and rain but no damage and power stayed on. From all accounts Rolling Fork, a small town/community, has essentially been wiped out. With a mile wide tornado a direct hit on a small town will do that. The devastation is horrific and I heard one of the Weather Channel reporters who was on the scene say yesterday that the only safe place for residents would have been underground. It is heartbreaking. We are now in tornado season and have at least 4-6 more weeks of watching.

One went over here on June 21 last year. It took the top out of the tree in my back yard uprooted a lot of trees in the neighborhood and blew the top of the tree across the road onto their house. But minimal damage was done to the house. I didn't know it was a tornado until a fireman said he saw it. I do know I was scared of that wind.
