I have seen those reports too, but have no reason to use a light reflecting mulch because, apparently, my plants are strong and healthy and very seldom are bothered by any insect pests, because the soil is has a very well balanced nutrient load.

As a wedding planner I would also add that the flowers in the bouquets should contrast with the dresses so they show up in the photos. Dark dresses need light colored flowers and lighter dresses need brighter and darker flowers. In the scenario above with the dark velvet dresses in the dark church, dark flowers would have disappeared into the dresses and not been visible. I had a winter bride who chose charcoal gray dresses and bouquets of deep red roses. The flowers were beautiful, but they couldn't be seen by the guests or in the photos. What happened with the law suit? I sure hope the mother didn't win.

Devon, I don't know if you will come back to view this as no one else has commented on your lovely words so you could be a bit disappointed. I would just like to say that you made everything sound so beautiful that I could imagine it all in my minds eye. We maybe failed a little when our children were young to instill in them the beauty of the world around us, but are trying everything to instill it in them now and in our grandchildren. We take them places where they can enjoy nature in it's rightful setting and have tried to create a garden where nature would want to dwell. It is a haven of peace. The waterdrop is in sharp focus. and the mirrored image is crystal clear. I bet somebody that knew something about trees could identify the species of pine. You know they really looked at the shot if they saw the moon. I had to look a bit to find it. Great pic!

sailfish, The two trees, we call the twin trees, are Douglas firs. These trees are not true firs. Sometimes they are called Oregon pine.
