Anyone?

Even if someone can tell me if I should go with the SAME pendants over the sink as over the peninsula???? Or is it ok to go with different?

I am in similar situation; have decided to put three individual pendants over long counter containing sink in middle and two more over a peninsula parallel to it 6.5 feet away. I didn't consider anything but matching ones, very small and simple, with a goal of having bold pattern on the window treatments that they will be hanging in front of.

I found a few photos in books that showed multiple pendants and generally they used same model for the whole set but some varied in color of the globe of glass or used a diff. shape or scale of globe. Except when a pendant was more like a chandelier or whatever over a table; then it didn't have to have a relationship to the sink or island.

Is there a reason as to why you don't want your pendants to match? Otherwise, standard practice seems to be to use a variant of one style on the other, such as a double-globe pendant on island and single globe matching one in another position. Same manufacturer and same finish, but sometimes with some kind of variation.

I've been fighting the in-ceiling lights trend for task lighting, which I find to dissipate light instead of focusing it and which I cannot use in my ceiling-attic situation. What's your reason for pendants?

I like the pendant you chose.
The ones that I used for my peninsula were part of a suite of lights, so I added the matching 3-light over the sink and the 5-light over the dining table. Hubby thought it would be too much, but I really like it (and isn't that what counts, lol).

florantha: I guess when I thought I was going to have only one pendant over the sink, I thought one that was different from the peninsula lights would be kind of funky...maybe the same shape but in a mosiac or something.... Then I decided I wanted recessed lights over the sink instead of pendants but unfortunately, they couldnt fit any of them in between the beams that were centered over the sink. So we went to two pendants flanking the sink. But now that I think about it, having two pendants over the peninsula and then two DIFFERENT ones over the sink sounds a little silly. I think you both are right...I should probably look for something in the same family as the peninsula light.
Dawn, are you the one that installed the butcher block on your countertop? I thought that was beautiful! Also, what is the paint color in that picture??

There are several who have installed woodtops and posted their gorgeous photos. Unfortunately I'm still in the process of installing mine... can you say s-l-o-w :)
