you could do a smaller pendant and have them just in front of center so that someone at the sink couldn't hit it. you could also bring them in closer together so that it's not right over the sink.

see how this one has the lights ? you could do it like this

or you could do something like this. (and I like the soft blue/gray glass too. this is the 767 Spun 3 pendant. they have singles too)

everdebz I really like that matte nickel dome bowl pendant. Do you think 12" is too big though? I can't tell what the height is.

Beth H. I like the glass pendants in the 2nd and 4th pictures, as well as the last ones (are those from PB?). Any idea where I could find them?

What width and height would you suggest? I find pendants I like but then they're either the wrong size or wrong finish.

You've been busy! :) Want to decorate the rest of my house. haha

I will have a hood on that back wall as well as a backsplash. The ventilation is very slow to arrive so we haven't been able to install it. My hope was that pendants would add some visual interest while still blending in with the space nicely. We've done lots of white so now I need to start adding in texture and color.

I ordered a couple pendants (thanks to you two!!) so let's see how they look once I get them into the actual space!

My ceilings are just under 8' and I have a tall husband worried about bumping his head on pendants lol. Our island is 9' long but only 40" wide. We went with clear pendants so visually they weren't intrusive. Played around with how far off the island and found a height that worked for us (my husband). My husband is tall too which brought up the concern for when he’s at the sink. I like those pendants from PB! Glass ones look so nice. Sounds like everyone, except my contractor, agrees pendants will work. 😂

What sort of hood is going over the cooktop?
