2023: "Popping off the plastic part of the switch" as suggested by fotwell_mines_edu is indeed easy but these details may help: The part you are removing is the entire plastic assembly that is visible and touch-able when the switch is installed, which sits on top of the metal plate you attach to the wall, and includes both the paddle (the on/off switch) and the plastic frame around it (which has the dimmer slider). Although I guess you can pop it off with a fingertip, I used a small flatblade screwdriver to press the little clip that holds the plastic assembly in place. On the end of the plastic assembly that has *two* short protrusions holding the assembly to the metal, those two protrusions are the clips you need to press down — in the direction of the center of the switch — while lifting the plastic away from the metal via a fingernail or what not in the shallow opening on the side the plastic frame, close to the same end that has the two protrusions. The plastic assembly did indeed come off easily and without any breakage, once I figured all this out. Be gone, nasty locator light.

Hello @worthy Great question! I’m attaching an images with a timestamp showing how our LED panels just keep going—we have installations that have been running strong for 15+ years without needing replacement some outdoors as shown The lifespan of the panels really depends on duty cycle and heat management—if they’re properly installed with good heat dissipation, they’ll last anywhere from 30,000 to 70,000 hours (which is a long time in real-world use). Honestly, in most cases, the power supplies tend to fail before the panels do. We’ve even had clients fully renovate their space again before ever needing a panel replacement! That said, while failure is rare, there’s always some risk—whether from a contractor accidentally damaging a panel during installation or something else unexpected. If it’s possible to build in some way to access the panels for replacement, it’s definitely worth considering, but it’s not always practical depending on the design. If you have any questions about how to set this up for longevity, I’d be happy to help! 😊

Hello! I'd say both backlit and front lit mirrors would be able to provide the lighting you need for a tiny bathroom. It would depend more on the style and look you want to achieve for the space. I have attached some examples below for both front lit and back lit. We also have LED Medicine Cabinets which I think it might be quite suitable for a small bathroom that you have so you can have more storage space. I hope this helps! Here are all of our mirrors. https://www.houzz.com/products/bathroom-mirrors/seller--vinnovainc

Millworkman - so we don’t have to worry about the wood expanding and contracting? Also I was concerned about the surface size of the wood that screws into the wall. Verbo - good idea about the medicine cabinet. I don’t know that we will find the size we need and we don’t want to see the back with the lights. It needs to be smaller than the mirror itself.
