How did you get the picture? Do you lift the lid of the hive? Did you use flash? Weren't they bothered?

Somehow searching for the queen, setting your camera in front of your nose & getting the exposure right seems downright risky.

If they are like the common honeybees that are around here, then they are not aggressive at all. Here, you can almost dig honey out of a tree hive without much problem.

If they are africanized, then watch out. The killer bees that have been found here will chase you for several hundred yards and it's not just a few, it seems like the whole hive comes after you.

My Wife took the pics.
You need to open the hive and take out frame by frame looking for her, sometimes it's very difficult, especially when hive is very larger, this one was about half size.
The pic was taken in full sunlight and bees don't seem to mind.
