I too am frustrated with trying to get clean, streak-free laminate floors. We decided to purchase the cheapest by the square foot laminate that has quite the shine to it. I tried microfiber mops, water, vinegar. I made the mistake of initially trying to clean them with Mop 'N Glo. I recently purchased a Shark steam mop at the recommendation of a coworker and while the pad shows dirt is being picked up, my floors are left streaky, even only using the recommended distilled water. I'm at my wits end here trying to get the streaks off these floors. I guess Bona is next on my list to try. I'm getting quite a collection of different mops and cleaners but I'd like to find just one that actually works!

I've tried many types of rinse aid in our dishwashers over the years. Basically, they all work the same - cheap or expensive. If I remember correctly, the "Turbo Dry" contains more alcohol, thus makes water evaporate faster - even on plastics. I've not noticed a substantial difference between "classic" rinse aid and Turbo Dry. However, I had to reduce the dosage down to 1 on the dishwasher's dispenser - otherwise I would get a little too much suds on the rinse cycle in our Bosch. The Turbo Dry is more concentrated. We have cabinets painted in Divinity on maple (http://www.medallioncabinetry.com/Product.aspx?productID=161&CategoryID=2) which is a cool off white with the honed jet mist. I really like it - everything is softer. The honed jet mist reminds me of a chalkboard, I don't know why. With the white streaks running through it I am much happier than going with absolute black honed, I think it can help hide any imperfections longer (not that I have any right now!!). We also had polished uba tuba in our old house and I hated the streaks as well. When we went to see a slab, yes, the guy was like, look at the fingerprints just want you to know etc and so we hemmed and hawed a bit about honed but finally said it can't be any worse than the streaks on a polished. I don't really notice any fingerprints. I am a bit fanatical about wiping down the counters right now (for water spots or food stains) but we have only had them for 3 months. All I use is either clorox wipes or just a paper towel with some dish soap. Occasionally I have used the method granite spray. If anyone has any better suggestions let me know! I also have 3 young children and don't believe they have inflicted any damage either. I'll do my best to upload a pic later to help.

Thank you all for your responses. Yes I've also read that Tom Cordova blog. It's helpful. Kevin, I had read your other posts re: Method Granite cleaner so I was planning on buying that. So the absolute black doesn't need any type of sealer? The countertops were just installed and they have dark streaks and spots in many places. I guess I would describe them as something that looks like a liquid stain. They don't disappear at all if I wipe them with a dry paper towel. Will the Method cleaner address this problem or is there something that the installer should have done to get rid of the spots? I'm just afraid that those streaks are permanent. I'm attaching a picture. It's not the most accurate picture but basically just jet black streaks/spots although the rest of the counter is a softer black. Thank you!
