I want one of those. We looked at one yesterday at Fry's that was $498, and BrandsMart had one advertised for $398. I think the I3IS is coming out soon, so the I2IS will be coming down in price. I don't know anything about the lenses but seems to me you got it at a good price- at least compared with around here.

Good deal!... As far as I know, this camera was close to $600 Canadian....have to ask my wife. You don't need any other lenses as far as I know, on these cameras you
can't exchange any. Is this a new camera?...sometimes the refurbished ones are cheaper.

it is a new camera kit with a manufact warranty.I was just wandering if it took lenses to get real close up shots of birds and natural scenery. if so where would i get them

This camera has 12X zoom and super macro, so you are all set to go but you need to study your manual allot.
You have seen those Bird shot's....all taken with this camera.

But I think that you are stuck with Cannon conversion lenses that just slip over the existing lens or is held in place by magnet.

Not saying that you bought a bad camera.

But a Pentax *IST 6.1MP with a 28-80MM Lens Kit can be gotten for around the $350 range. Then your lens choice would have been nearly unlimted. I have different lenses that range from 18mm up to 1600mm for mine.

Here is one photo using the camera to shoot a Woodcock (which I had never saw before around here) at over 400 feet away with an 500-1300 mm lens.

It's the S2 IS

One other nice future I find is....you can take excellent quality movie while using your zoom lens and taking stereo sound. I find it's a excellent price for what you get.

one thing to keep in mind, most digital cameras are very sensitive to moisture, so I would not recommend shooting outdoor when raining.

It will be awhile before a moon shot can be taken here. For we just went throught the phases and it is now cloudy and wet.
