Tom, I use fishing line and galvanized nails, i anchor the nails pretty much in a circle fashion to zig zag and hold the staghorn firm on the flat shield... I have 4 (2 mounted and 2 in hanging baskets) and gave my brother one that weighed around 300 that is about 45years old, on a chain (ball), but he has huge Tiki's and placed it on one of his largest tiki's, his is just going to town and growing, we also use banana peels and some fish emulsion with water... My "living mulch" is moss and some bits of clover, every thing becomes covered in moss if you're not careful, I like it but you can have too much of a good thing, I want to have a lovely dark mulched bed, then I'll be happy. Oh that's a beautiful specimen. Reading about it, I'm sure I'd be glad to have a couple of those. I love the fact that it is fragrant. It has so many qualities and in looking at yours Natal it appears very hardy. How large was yours when you purchased it? I'm assuming you purchased it locally. What about you Wodka, same questions. Nice to know it grows from a cutting also. One of the things I want to do is plant fragrant vines and plants by the doors as I love that when I'm entering and exiting. Right now I have to walk around my neighborhood smelling all the neighbor's fragrant flowers. LOL Thanks for the information and photo's.
