My poor old cat Sadie

carmellia

Sadie is 22 yrs old and has always been a tiny cat. The past few years it has become a struggle keeping her weight up, and I now seem to be losing the battle.

She eats what I give her and always wants more. I feed her often but small portions because she throws up a big meal. I'm sure she gets as much total food as my other cats do, but she is skin and bone.

And finally, (don't read this paragraph if you are having lunch) she does stools that look like they have been laying out in the sun for a week. They are small, dry and hard. She drinks lots of water so she should not be dehydrated.

Does any of this sound familar to anyone? I will break down and take her to the vet if things don't improve soon. But, as frail and excitable as she is, I'd rather not put her through it if I don't have to.

Thanks. Carmellia
