Welcome to the GW Indalyne. I'm not sure where anyone gets enough corks to cover pathways, but what a cool idea. You have the perfect job for being able to cruise other people's gardens and get great ideas. Sometimes I try to leave for work early so I can detour off my usual route and look at people's gardens. I think that for every expensive garden idea there is a similar idea that can be implemented for almost nothing, if not for free. DH didn't always agree with me, but he doesn't argue about it anymore. He has even started to come up with a few ideas of his own. Cheryl

1... since where i live... is having a 14" total rain shotage 4 the yr... will my peppers b hotter? If you tell us where you live it would help alot for us to give you better answers. 2... my habanero plant looks more like a bush... its over 2ft wide and 3ft tall... it has over 60 peppers on it now... they get pretty big tho... and r perfect color. so is that still ok? or would i get bigger 1s if i prune like a roma plant? Do not prune peppers. 3... my kung pao pepper plants r over 4ft tall... and over 30 peppers a piece... all about 5-6"... nice color green. i have gotten 1 red 1 from 1 so far... whats the deal with that? They obviously are a little slower to ripen. 4... is there any way 2 dry jalapenos and serranos? i have looked every where... but cant really find anything. id love 2 have sum dried of that from my dehydrator They should dry fine in the dehydrator. slice in half to open them up. slice in thin slices if you want faster drying. 5... i have a green pepper that smells just like a bell... but looks like a hungarian wax... is there a way there mixed? where did you get the seeds. 6... my roma tomatoes r freaking huge!!!! even after the worst drought here ever!!! all i have dun is water and give them rabbit poop and had them listen 2 sum nice deep house music 8 hrs a day. can u xplain y in shitty ground they have grown so huge? (sum have respouted from later in in the same spots even after tilling down 12"... and they r double the size othe the others and r twice as juicey and better in taste) Is it possible that the roma crossed with a regular tomato and then the seeds sprouted up and look like roma???? 7... how thin must i slice my habaneros 2 make them "crisp" im my dehydrator? I believe crisp comes if you stop the dehydrator at the crisp stage. slices probably will give a more uniform drying. I dry mine in halves. I like bigger pieces. Some people slice them. Why not try both and see what you like that is best for you.

Hi, again. No, Kim, it's not near the lake. It's just NNW of Tahlequah. It's a single story, with lots of attic space, but no support or floor in the attic. Converting the attic is on our wish list. As y'all can probably tell, it needs a new roof, so when we get that done, we'll hopefully also be able to put in the structure needed to make the attic at least usable for storage, if not as an extra room. It was originally a farmhouse. It's mostly been in one family, which bought it several years after it was built. (I don't remember exactly when, though). The girl (She's a very young adult) we bought it from was the granddaughter of the woman that lived in it most of its "life." The granddaughter inherited the house from her grandmother, but clearly she didn't understand the work involved in taking care of a house, much less an old one in the country. That's why she was selling it. When we bought it 1 1/2 years ago, one of the front rooms was a living room, and the other a bedroom. The living room has a door that leads into a kitchen, and the kitchen has a door that leads into the second bedroom, which is extremely tiny - barely enough room in there for a twin bed, much less anything larger. Somewhere down the road, someone build a closet in or off that room. Out the back door of the kitchen used to be the back porch, but was enclosed several decades ago, maybe in the '50's or 60's, we're guessing. We tore down some drywall on the wall between the back porch room and the kitchen, to discover the original clapboards. We've timidly peeled back a little vinyl from one of the posts, but haven't seen exactly what's underneath, but there is a post there. Don't know if it's original or not. Hi Teresa! Just because you are being so nice, I am telling you my soon to be future posting. On Saturday, I am making a dinner party for friends. The way I do all my parties is prepare every day a little bit, the day of the event I don't do a thing but get myself ready and few fresh details. So far appetizer, soup and salad are done. Few side dishes will be done soon. Originally, I was thinking to make gazpacho from the tomatoes from the garden but I changed to a hot roasted tomato soup, I am glad that I did, it tasted so good! For dessert, I am thinking something Meyer lemon, my tree is getting heavy with fruit... And when I go to a new restaurant, I will take you and the cooking forum to have that experience in another post! I have some interesting reservations coming up:) Hope to meet Mustangs when she has a chance to be in my area. Silvia
