All I can say is WOW! The order arrived this morning, a day early. Everything was perfect! Packaging was flawless and the plants were absolutely protected. Each plant gets a mesh stocking first, followed by several wraps of brown craft paper. All were quite moist, and all pot medium was where it needed to be...in the pots. The quality of the plants is top-notch, especially for summer. Very little damage to foliage, and only a few of the larger items were at all pot-bound. I'm so impressed with Santa Rosa I sat down and placed another order for 79 more clearance items. When I paid with Paypal, they immediately sent me a partial refund, to cover the Duranta from the first order. First class product, customer service and prices!

My fear (not a realistic one and 100% not gonna happen) is that the ragweed and bermuda will cross-pollinate and create something like giant ragmuda weed. I don't know what thorny weeds you have there, but if they're the same ones we have here (greenbrier, from the Smilax family), they are awful. We have about 10 wooded acres and it is a real challenge just to maintain a 4' wide path through the woods because the greenbrier 'takes back' the path every summer during snake season when we do not venture into the woods. Even Chuck Norris probably doesn't mess with ragweed. You gave him great advice. I hope you made him sign a legal disclaimer releasing you from liability in case the bermuda swallows his dog, his vehicles and then the house. I think you could throw bermuda grass down on concrete and it would find a way to sprout and grow. He 'could' rototill and plant those sprigs, etc., etc., but that seems like an awful lot of work for bermuda grass and is totally unnecessary. The only plant I've ever seen that outgrows bermuda grass is St. Augustine in zone 8. I am not sure if St. Augustine would consistently win the war with bermuda in zone 7 or 6 since it can suffer winterkill when we have the occasional really, really cold night. Our next-door neighbor here had St. Augustine, and we're guessing it was Raleigh because that's the one sold here back during the time long ago when he planted it. His St. Augustine grew really well for many years, but one year we went down to 0 or 1 degree for a couple of nights, and I think his St. Augustine never recovered from that. For some reason, the dreadful bermuda grass recovers from everything.

Red Alert, is normally classed as a cold tolerant variety and was developed in England over twenty years ago, it normally comes into flower and sets it's fruit about the end of may outside, and all of the tomatoes come ripe at once on the plant so you can pick the whole set of plants at one go, rather more of a commercial variety for machine harvesting, It was originally an F1 hybrid, but lost favor over the years because it was a bit on the tart side and not sweet enough, but it was certainly one of the earliest to fruit in the garden. I have grown it several times in the past twenty years or more, and have not noticed any problems with heat tollerence, but the ants nests under the ground will certainly make the plants wilt, as I have have several do that in the past, even inside a greenhouse, when I pulled up the plant it was teaming with darned ants all in the root ball hole,

They are hardy in Central Texas. Had dozens of Amaryllis belladonna in my garden in Hillsboro for 14 years. Although they grew and multiplied, they never flowered. Had great foliage all through the fall, winter, and spring, but it died down during the summer. I think the summers are too hot for them, especially in full sun. Also tried growing xAmarygia (Amaryllis x Brunsvigia )for 15 years in Corsicana. They finally flowered after 14 years in the ground. They were planted on the east side in partial sun.
