Weather: Our spring idyll is about to end (for now)

How's the weather at your house?

I have a fire going in the woodstove for the first time in a week or two, as the temperature is dropping rapidly. Everything in the garden had started leafing out--fruit trees, lilacs, hydrangeas, roses, etc.--and tomorrow night is forecast to go down to 21 degrees F. We're worried about the fruit crop. In 2009 and 2010 we had no apples or pears because of a freeze in June.

I don't know how to explain the current turn of events to the daffodils, which are in full bloom. The weather seems to get crazier every year.
