Approximate number of staples needed for 600 sq/ft wood fllooring
Comments (6)on average a cleated floor definately comes up faster and easier. this tells me a stapled floor holds better, plus it installs much much faster. best of both worlds (unless you are in the hardwood removal biz). We primarily staple when we have a choice as far as the manufacturers specs go and never had a problem. We have had problems with cleated anchoring systems over approved grades of Oriented Strand Board Engineered Panel subflooring (OSB), but never with staple systems. Another consideration is pneumatic staple systems and the staples are generally much less expensive for the tools and staples than cleat systems and cleats are. Faster install time ... more economical tool systems ... more economical anchors ... holds the wood flooring down better ... maximum performance over a wider variety of approved subfloor products without problems ... the only negative a staple system provides is its harder to remove the wood .. which is a good thing in my opinion....See MoreCaesarstone Pricing per sq ft.
Comments (14)chefwong, unfortunately I am not surprised. I recently spent $900 on a 31 x 19 inch white quartz vanity top. I'm pretty sure it is Caesarstone Pure White but I never asked about the manufacturer. My top is a double thickness around the edge so it appears to be 2.5 inches thick (although it is normal thickness at the sink cutout. I saw a model on display and loved the clean, pure white color and super modern look and just told the person in the kitchen and bath store that I wanted a top like that. He took care of ordering it, but forgot to tell me the price. When I asked about and he sent me the bill, I was shocked to see it was $900. The ironic thing is that while I loved it in the showroom, it is my least favorite thing in my new bathroom. It looks really white (almost too white) when compared with my darker tile and Toto toilet. I also notice the water spots on it. In retrospect, I wish I had gone with something with a little pattern....See MoreIf you already owned your land, would you mind sharing price per sq ft
Comments (28)Virgil said: "More to the point, cost vary due to complexity, quality and frankly, lack of thought resulting in change orders during construction." Exactly. Are you building a basic house with clamshell molding or no molding around the windows, inexpensive carpeting throughout, minimal tile, laminate counters, etc or are you building a top of the line house with 10" crown moldings, 8" baseboard molding, calcutta marble tile in the bathrooms, Sub zero quality appliances, hand scraped hardwood floors throughout, and fireplaces in every room? Are you building in a HCOLA area or in you in a rural area where land and labor are inexpensive? A great example is my house which is custom. If I go with his basic features, which are still very nice, my cost per square foot will be $217 a square foot. Not cheap but it does include granite, tile, wood floors, a pool with hot tub, security system, a Bosch appliance package, tankless water system, semi custom cabinets, Kohler quality fixtures and many other options. However if I add every single option at the maximum price, meaning I decide I can't live without the $50 a square foot tile, or need more expensive wood flooring, the elevator, a full outdoor kitchen, upgraded moldings, a fancier staircase, etc, etc, the price could jump to as high as $279 a square foot. I can go outside my target area to an area that is 5-10 miles from where we're building and can build a house for 1/2 the price per square foot. Same zip code even. So as Virgil is saying, it really means nothing what the square foot price to build is....See MoreHardwood install cost - 3.1 $ per sq ft. Is it fair?
Comments (9)Prices are going to vary from region to region. I agree with getting more quotes. only then will you know whether or not your current quote is within reason. A helpful tip, is make sure the quote is clearly and precisely outline with exactly what they plan to do, the more specific the better....See Moregmnolen
