Ha, Doris, I had some beef ribs and pork loin on. Turned out tender, juicy and finger lickin' good, if I say so myself.

Thanks, and, while most of my photos I post here are pretty much the best impression I can make of what I saw to photograph, this one, of course, was heavily edited to get the effect you see. I'm sure if I was a more knowledgeable photographer, I could have gotten something similar "in the camera", but, hey, you do the best you can with what you've got. ;)

FWIW, the heavy billowing smoke lit up by the bright morning sun was what caught my eye and what I was trying to catch and convey. I took probably 20 pics trying to get it. Most of them just didn't catch the real brightness and density of the smoke. The one above, edited, did the best job of capturing the smoke itself. Because it was so bright, I could darken up the background and be left mostly with smoke tendrils curling around and wafting up.

RC, when I first glanced at the photo I knew it was smoke of course. I had to scroll down to see the whole photo and what I expected to see at the bottom was someone with a cigarette.
I had to chuckle when the next pix showed the smoker. Very Rod Serling-esque if I can make a comparison. His work was always dark and the ending always unexpected (and of course he always smoked). LOL
