LOL Jean...the "worm" will be a beautiful butterfly before long. Glad you enjoyed my photos. Thanks Connietn, I'm really enjoying my butterfly garden too, and am so glad the butterflies approve of it as well. :) Hi Renee, I've raised baby birds before too...been a while though. Tiny seems to be doing well, trying to fly a bit. Hopefully I will be able to release it back to the wild in a few weeks. Chris, Sherry Candy wowed me with it's FFO too. I sure do like it a lot. No, that isn't the seedling you remember. It was a Cherry Chapeau x unknown as I recall. I think this is it. As for the cat pics, I can thank my camera's super macro capability for those shots. :) Yep, little Tiny is a show stealer alright, and a loud mouth too. LOL Thanks lala...and nope that's not the way I feed Tiny. I mix canned dogfood with just a little water. Hopefully he'll begin eating seed before much longer. I think we've identified him/her as a Chipping Sparrow. Cindy...glad you like my butterfly garden..it sure is a lot of fun. Baby birds can be a hoot, can't they? I hope Tiny continues to do well and I can release him before too much longer. Andrea...thanks, I appreciate your comments. Happy Gardening all, Jan

Forest god always impresses me with it's form and subtle colors......I've heard Cat Dancer is hard to grow in our climate, or I'd have tried it. Love the pattern Kind of like Real Wind..........Maryl

It was indeed a wonderful way to spend a morning! Thanks for all your responses and I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. Here are a few more. Behind one of the buildings there was a small garden of mostly annuals. It couldn't have been much bigger than maybe 12x12 or 14x14 feet, but it was so beautiful and colorful. Dahlias, zinnias, sunflowers, tithonia, celosia, very tall amaranthus (looked like Dreadlocks to me, which I've grown but it has never gotten to five feet tall lol!), cleome, ageratum, and I think that's all of it. Such a wonderful little spot, alive with color and buzzing with pollinators! Cafe au Lait Emory Paul - this dahlia was HUGE! I don't think I've ever seen such a big dahlia and I've grown some pretty big ones! When I looked around in the dirt for the tag I was surprised to see the name. I've never grown Emory Paul but I've heard the name, being, I believe, an older dahlia. WOW. I am adding this to my list next year. And much nicer color than I've seen in photos Cleome and ageratum Begonia Our favorite shed lol. Lots of photo ops here! My husband got some of the few remaining rose blooms in the surrounding rose garden More from the meadow - goldenrod and thistle :) Dee

Yep. Climate change is real. The "super el Nino" could be brutal for us in central Texas, if predictions hold. We have had temperature swings from 90 to 40's and back up again already this "spring" (technically late winter.) My first flush came early, then got heat stressed, but very pleasant morning ahead in our forecast...🫨
