Do you have a small world experience to share?

The "IÂll Show You Mine" post and Barbara3 and CJD63Âs discovery led me to this post.

Relate your "Small World" experience.

When I was working as an assistant manager at a fast food restaurant in Las Vegas, about 25 years ago, we were standing around on a slow Sunday talking about strange foods we had eaten. I told everyone that "back home" we always ate Rocky Mountain Oysters. Someone asked where back home was. I told them Fairfield, Iowa. One of the guys said, "oh, I have an aunt, uncle and cousin in Fairfield!". I said, "oh sure you do". I mean how could that be? So, I asked what their names were. He tells me and turns out; they were our next-door neighbors. And I went to school with and worked with his cousin. We were all really close. I eventually quit working in fast food and went to work for his Mom and became good friends with his sister. Small world!

While working for his Mom, we used to stop at a DennyÂs restaurant for breakfast every Saturday morning. We had the same server, Ann, every time and I always told the other girls that I felt I some how knew her. One morning we had a new girl with us and Ann asked her if she wanted hash browns or grits. She did not know what grits were and didnÂt want the hash browns. I said get the gritsÂI hadnÂt had them in a long time. Ann said, "I was raised in South Dakota and we ate grits all the time". I asked her where in South Dakota and when she told me Hot Springs, I told her she probably knew my Mom. Oh, no, that couldnÂt be possible as it was years and years ago that she lived there. I told her my MomÂs name and she got this look on her face and saidÂ"Vicki?". Turns out, she was our babysitter when were little. We hadnÂt seen her in about 20 years. Small world!
