I can create folders for any thing I want and store my recipes in multiple folders. I've got folders for recipes by course, folders for special events, folders for recipes that I want to try.....

After all these years and several applications ...this is what I use and I love it.

I use Pepperplate.com. It syncs to my phone, my iPad, and my PC. Some recipes download with a click of the bookmarklet, others have to be entered by cut-and-paste. I suppose you can also type the whole recipe in, but I've never done that.

I really like that recipes can be scaled. You can divide the recipe as low as 1/4 or increase up to 4x. You can also categorize you recipes however you wish to. You establish your own categories.

It has a grocery list feature that I've never taken the time to learn.

I like that I can get to the grocery, be struck with a desire to make xyz, look it up on my phone, and have a list of ingredients right there.

It is free and, for the parts I use, intuitive.

I use pepperplate also. Easy and free. On phone, ipad, laptop. DH has it also.
Same user name so we can link, he can check a grocery list, etc. It easily grabs a recipe from
the main food sites or you can cut/paste from blogs. It reformats in one clean font and easy to read.
I can put in my own recipes and write notes and changes i make of others. It grabs photos as well.
I've just been using it for a few months now and love it.

I purchased Recipe Keeper. I do like it, as I can add the website link to read the reviews and such. i don’t really like the display though. No reason, I just don’t like the look of how it is laid out. But on the whole I would recommend it.

I do like the simple typed document.

That said, to have automatic sharing across devices, I really like Mealboard. It's simple, and if you don't want to fill out fields, you can just paste the whole recipe in the directions box, and read it as if it were on paper. You can also, do the same, then cut the ingredients list and past it in Ingredients/text. Sometimes, parentheticals get erased doing that, so remove parentheses, but otherwise, it figures them out. Most things are customizable. There's an online version you can use in your computer browser. It's easy to import and share.
