Finally found my 'inspiration' hutch LOL

I've been looking all over, for just the right blue to paint the hutch, in the new kitchen. Many of you know, I have my bunny tiles, for the backsplash and I'm trying to find some blue arborite for the countertops (which has been discontinued). So, I thought the blue hutch would be the next best thing...

And the blue hutch...which even has the soft yellow wall and lots of green plants...but it's a RABBIT hutch. (LOL) It should go very well, with the bunny tiles though, don't you think? :)

LOL! Maybe you can remove the top, cover it with a slab of marble, and retrofit with flour bins! 'Cuz it is THE perfect shade of blue!

that is a fantastic table. Remember Mama-Gose did a great conversion to marble top table. I do not think her table had the fancy bottom like your inspiration picture. My landing table has a pretty leg and bottom. Hehehehehe It is considered a small library table. I sold a HUGE library table when we moved to Idaho. It would not fit on the truck and made a good profit on it. It was 5 1/2 foot and wonderful turned legs and cross piece. I raised up the desk I used for island with casters and as crazy as it seems it did not travel around like you would think. I miss my island but have a peninsula here so that works and my island serves as another base cabinet.

Hi Francy! I have had no problems with that shade and light...the only thing that bothers me about it is that I screwed up the calculations and it is not centered between the hood and the walll.. :(. My ceilings are 8 feet and I also have the open shade above the sink and honestly I never really look up at them to catch any glare. My rationale too was not to have too many different shades/styles. You can see that the fitter and canopy on my sink pendant match the small stove light. All my light shades have the black stripe but they did not offer the stripe on the one over the sink. Martha: Thank you so much for your kind words. I like the words "verbal bouquet", I am going to use that sometime this week... and yes they do have value. I appreciate your comments, thank you. Bayarea: Yes the red cabinets! Well, he did take them back and redid the finish. (He claims he didn't know his installer had taken them from the shop that day to install... whatever.) I told him to do away with the distressing and just give me finished red cabinets. He did accomplish that. We didn't end on the best of terms. I am thrilled with the quality of the construction, and for the most part happy with the finishing. However, his ability to run his own business and communicate with other humans leaves a lot to be desired. He won't get my reccommendation to anyone. Regarding the hearth, I would be remiss if I didn't say thanks to Colleen... (colleen, I can't remember your full screen name) for sending me a photo she had for inspiration. I was also highly influenced by this photo I found here on GW. I absolutely love it and worked my own rendidtion. If someone knows who to thank, please let me know!

Haha, lavender, my builder would kill me, esp. after the last minute change w/ the laundry/dog wash area. Plus, DF is never going to go for it :( Everyone has told me time and again that 4 fireplaces are enough (so untrue!) and I already upgraded the fireplaces we do have to bigger and better ones, inc. adding a marble mantel to one and blue bahia surround to another, so my fireplace spending has been quite out of control. Plus, I got my engagement ring for christmas so I'm sure DF thinks he's spent quite enough already on me :( I will have to live vicariously through you! Just make sure you post LOTS and LOTS of pictures once you have yours installed!! Your kitchen is going to be sooooo beautiful and cozy and inviting!! And, if it really bothers me, I'll ask for it for christmas next year! It's right by an exterior wall, shouldn't be too expensive to add on later, right...

Mama Goose- LOL! Of course, marble would make all the difference...and I love the idea of adding flour bins!

Dragonfly- I think it's a great idea, too...but it's not really mine, only a picture I found online :)

I love that hutch. It is such a cute setup. You can keep livestock right in your kitchen, or "keeping room". Wabbit Stew.

Charming! Seriously, are you thinking of using wire mesh in a couple of doors in your hutch? It could be anything from that sort of welded wire to a finer French-looking mesh and still be evocative. BTW, I love your colors in that picture.

Do you actually have the hutch or did you just find a picture of it? Cute! Bunnies are good too, unless they're in my garden.

Thank you for the nice responses! It is a cute hutch, but not actually mine...just found the picture. Wire would be a fun idea though.

That little bunny is so cute. It almost seems like he's saying, "Mama, I swear...that carrot was this big!"

And no, I don't have bunnies in the garden, but I've seen a few around the creek. I think the barn kitties keep them from coming too close to the house.

it's a great idea tho! could use it as a 'pattern' to have one made up. the 'roof' could lift up to give access to baskets of potatoes and onions...(or something).

so many options with it - and leave it to mama g to come up with a great idea!

i love bunnies - have lots of them out here on my land - don't like when they eat my plants tho - the little stinkers! I've even put chicken wire 'fencing' around them and they wiggle in to get them. even cacti!

That's the perfect blue! And wire in the doors of the hutch is a great idea! Always love to see your bunny tiles. (My grandpa raised bunnies, and I loved to help him feed and water them when I visited.)
