I got some from Kohls that were awesome. Coffee words and cups of coffee. Rub and peel. NO fim stays on them. I got some at Hobby Lobby that took FOREVER and a day to rub! I had to rub a LONG time to get them to transfer! I mean I was almost wearing out the cloudy paper, in fact over dots and periods I think I pretty much rubbed a hole in it. LOL That was a quote I wanted to put above family pics.

Some just take a lot of rubbing Sandy. My shoulder would get sore from reaching the spot over my head and rubbing.
Just be stubborn and keep rubbing it. Or you and Dean take turns. It will come off!

I bought one from Kohl's, too. It's a tree with birds. It's about 3' tall but it didn't come with any instructions.

Nodakgal, can you tell me a little more about the rub and peel? What do I rub--do I put the film side up on the wall with the tree itself facing the wall and rub the film and then peel it off? I'm thinking it's a little much for me (I'm not the most patient person) and giving it to my granddaughter who's getting married and moving to an apartment. Hope it peels off easily.

Also, what did you rub with, just your fingers or a coin or what? I like them so much, but think I need to start with one word or something :-)

Patti, they give you a plastic card type thing to rub the film with. like a thick credit card. Yours should have one. If not I'd guess you could try a credit card or drivers license, but they might be more apt to gouge a hole in the cloudy filmy paper. Or you might break the cc. LOL

I bought wall words online before they were carried in stores. Mine were also very difficult to apply. I found that by concentrating (I worked left to right) on the left hand side of each letter - lifting the clear paper - coaxing the left side of the actual litter just a little bit, I could then continue working as "normal" (on top of the clear paper) on that letter. Repeat process for the next letter or symbol. Don't know if this will translate well, so if you have more questions please fire away!

I wasn't understanding the wet part of your post.
SO these are like the tattoo's kids buy? I always have to hold the wet paper towel on the thing for at least 30 seconds to get it to remove. I am not sure how these wet and transfer words work??

Hopefully someone that is smart and can read will have an answer for you!!!

I make my own with my Cricut - I have a "squeegee" that I use the rub the words on. If you have a thin dish scraper it is the same type of tool.

Rub the letters on with that and then peel the transfer paper off.

With the type of vinyl and transfer paper that I use - they recommend pull the paper back at a sharp angle - like pulling right back on top of itself. Pull slowly and if you see a letter pulling up with the paper, stop and rub some more with your squeegee.

A large wooden popsicle stick works well also for rubbing on - but you really want a flat area on your tool that you are rubbing with - nothing sharp.

Duh on my part, also! Sorry, I did not read your post carefully enough to realize your wall words are to be applied differently than mine were.

No...I think I poorly discribed what I was doing.

Anyway......I went home at lunch and tried again. The saying is "TOGETHER a great place to be". WIth the together being in gold tone. Well...I couldn't get the gold strip to go up...gave up! Then I figured, what the heck, I will try the other strip which is black. Slick as snot! LOL Worked just the way it was suppose to. I think it has to do with the gold!!! It would not seperate from the paper, but the black worked easy! Now I have to figure out how I am going to write TOGETHER on my wall! :/

Must be a different kind of vinyl.

If you know someone who has a Cricut or other type of cutting machine, they could cut the word TOGETHER for you out of vinyl - probably even a different color if you want.
