How do you know where the dishwasher is now without the label? :-P You did a wonderful job planning your new kitchen. I toyed with the idea of moving one of the entrances to my kitchen, but the new doorway would have made my kitchen visible from the front door. I knew I wouldn't like that, so I kept things as they were. You gained a lot by closing that area off. Now we just gotta work on that view through your window! I don't know where you live, but would a Climbing Pinkie rose or a Clematis survive on that fence out there? You need pretty flowers to admire when you're doing the dishes. :-) Enjoy your new kitchen!

We used Costco a couple of years ago, but the company contracted with was Baywood Cabinets (Seattle). Our experience wasn't very good. Baywood wasn't very good to work with, and in fact, but we didn't know it then, but Costco was in the process of canceling Baywood's contract - or not renewing it, I don't know which. But, obviously, there were problems with the company, and Costco still let us purchase knowing that. We had problems with our cabinets, and Costco wouldn't return any phone calls or emails about it. We kept getting shuffled around the system: each new manager that was supposed to help us out was either gone on vacation, or would check into it, or some excuse. We finally gave up. Costco is fine for service if you can haul the product back to the store and show them what's wrong. Obviously, we couldn't rip out the cabinets and take them back. There are some wonderful private cabinetmakers out there, but it does take some work to find them. We thought by using Costco, our preliminary work would have been vetted. Big mistake. Good luck!

the costco cabinets are made in china and warehoused in florida. The prices are pretty good. I can normally beat the price with my import products any day of the week. If you are going to buy Chinese from Costco be aware there are american made brands that will actually be less if you know which brand to get and who sells them. Chinese products get a bad wrap for the most part. Why is a Ikea cabinet praised on this board over and over and the Chinese cabinet is slammed over and over? I have 150 different cabinets from China and the Us I offer to my customers when the budget for the entire kitchen remodel is under 10k for all products appliances countertops and installation. Generally the Chinese will give you painted finishes with glazes and solid wood dove tail drawers and soft close full extension undermount rails in full overlay door styles for the cost of builder grade oak in American brands. Is there that much of a difference if a chinese man operates a huge steel machine to shape the wood or if a american man or woman operates an older version of that machine in the US? Many of the Chinese factories are more advanced with newer equipment than the US factories. I have many US cabinet makers that are just now becoming "CARB" compliant a California Air Resources Board standard. The chinese met the standard much faster then the US did many times. I am not stuck on either US or Chinese and realize that we as consumers need choices to match our own situations. More choices means lower prices for all the opposite of monopoly. That being said Costco is high end on the cost of chinese cabinets. Sunco and 6 Square both have the same business model if you want to compare prices after finding local dealers to your area. The doors and drawers are finished in China the rest is cut and assembled in the US facitlity for all 3 brands.

Maybe I am the only dealer in the world who cares about not charging to much and being in line with the competition but it amazes me that the posts on here state that costcos price is very good or an independent dealer was about the same price! Hello!!!! Allwood is stock cabinet company with not choice in stain color and you are willing to pay the same price for it as woodmark or shennadoah at Lowes or Home Depot? Both those brands have a Limited lifetime warrantee. The book for All wood is about 1/4" thick vs 1-2" thick for woodmark or shennandoah! You pay higher prices for more choices. Honestly Costco is a rip off or any other dealer selling it at the price of costco. Without monthly promotions factored in the price before promtional discount is 100% mark up! That is crazy. They are laughing at you all the way to the bank. I have some of the least expensive brands around to offer to my customers. I have been able to match the price of volume deals in cabinets to beat out Reico selling Merilat cabinets to a 300 unit apartment complex and offer a lifetime warrantee on the cabinets used as well as give painted maple at the price of maple stain in Merilat. I got a 10% discount from the factory and marked it up 10% from the normal price giving me a margin of 20% total. I can mark that same cabinet company up 50% and be about even with shennandoah and woodmark. It is tough to sell a RTA cabinet higher then 50% mark right now stay competitive. 100% on costco is insane! Do not assume that because costco sells it is cheap. Otherwise you are a fool. 6 square has more interesting colors and door styles particularly inset at the lowest prices in the nation. 6 square is a lower priced product as well. Sunco is also another company that sells their cabinets with the same business model.
