I just got this email. I've seen it before and hope no one falls for it!! Seriously, Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth is going to give me money?

Wow, If I could collect all of the $$$ offered me via e-mail come-on, that I delete, I could get the he!! out of this APT and into my own home again. I just don't understand people who are dumb, or should I say, naive enough to fall for these. Dottie

Dormancy is not necessary. Old leaves will be pushed off by new. You can pluck all the leaves off to simulate winter loss for a gain of about 2 days sooner fruiting and increased chills, but it likely is not necessary in your climate and with a rabbiteye. If you are going to then drop the leaves down to use for mulch. Removing the leaves rather than letting them fall off naturally deprives the plant of some nutrients it would normally remove from the leaf and the ability to pump wastes into the leaves before jettisoning them. As was said, you need 6-8 hours of direct sunlight required daily for sugar formation and fruiting; depending upon your environment dappled/shade cloth can help in harsh solar conditions of say 14 hours creating the equivalent or 6-8 hours direct sun.

When we started the kitchen remodel, our focus was one improving the traffic flow through the house and getting a functional layout. Aesthetics was a tertiary concern. We wanted cabinets that blended in with the house and a kitchen that didn't look like a brand new remodel. While we spent over a month sourcing historically correct windows and agonized endlessly over many difficult problems BEHIND the walls most of our decorating decisions were made quickly (as in less than an hour). I was so excited about having more than two feet of counter to work on that I didn't really care what it looked like. Now that the kitchen is mostly put together I can honestly say it is gorgeous! We love it all! There isn't anything that stands out in the kitchen and we can't put our finger on one thing that makes it look so nice (there is no "pop") but it is truly a great space. There are many on this forum who love the process of remodeling their kitchen as much or more as actually getting the new kitchen. Which is great for them but can leave some of the rest of wondering "what's wrong with me?" I'm pretty sure that when it all comes together you are going to be very happy with the end result.

I have confessed several things to my parents as an adult. When I was in high school or college I finally confessed to what happened the first time I ever remember lying to my parents. I was in first grade and my elementary school had a policy that if any students found change on the playground, we had to turn it into the office and at the end of the quarter, if nobody had claimed it, they returned it to us in class, taped to a 3x5 notecard. I remember several times the secretary coming to the class and passing out the found money back to the kids, and I wanted money to be passed out to me soooooo bad. So I had lost my tooth and the "toothfairy" had given me 2 nickels, and my parents had them sitting on a hutch in our living room. So, I stole one of my own nickels, and turned it in to school saying that I found it on the playground, LOL. I clearly remember sitting around the table at dinner and my parents asking all of us if we took the nickel and I lied. I felt guilty about it for years. And, by the way, I did my nickel back at the end of the quarter. hahahaha!

I've gotten several offers of huge inheiritances. All from foreign countries. That's what my "delete" key is for!

I can't believe anyone falls for any of this stuff either.

The scammers might improve their chances if they'd learn how to put a proper English sentence together. :-)

Gee pawprint,you just burst my bubble! I got two of those and I was just about to answer one. I figured I must be REALLY important if they sent me two!
What amazes me is that the scammers that send these things still think people are stupid enough to fall for it after all the publicity that has been sent out about them.I guess though,there's always a few that just might.I don't understand how anyone could be that stupid or maybe just naive.

I answered one once. Told them I'd be willing to come to London if they'd send me a plane ticket. they never sent it.

I used to feel sorry for greedy people, but not anymore. They're not naive, they're greedy. They really think that they'll get all these millions, that Bill Gates will send them money (yeah right!), that someone was charged $250 for a cookie recipe so they're going to avenge it, or that the post office will impose an email tax. My favorite is when they ship their cars overseas and then the check bounces six months later. Can't feel sorry for people when they're assessed a stupidity or greed tax.

My favorite was one, which promised if you forwarded it, for every 1,000 forwards they would "donate" a dialysis machine to a hospital. I'm a dialysis patient and I know the machines are paid for by the hospitals themselves, not "donated" by some internet do-gooder.

Somebody must be falling for this old scam - because it's still around. Of course, probably the same people fell for the same scam when it came via the mail service.
Remember the old saying: if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably isn't true.
However, if you do have relatives or friends who are elderly, do get them on the 'no call' list. I've a friend whose mother gave out personal info to a 'boiler room' scam and she has absolutely nothing left of a previous substantial inheritance. So sad. Reported to police, but they were long gone. Police indicated that they spend only about 24 hours in any location.

I, too, have always wanted to answer them back to see what happens. I get the foreign ones all the time. Sure nice of them to pick me out of the millions of people in the world!!!!

I should email them and tell them to send the money to the state of Illinois to eliminate our budget deficit...lol

By the way, you should never answer these e-mails. It validates your e-mail address for the next round of spam.
