I have two shoe boxes for storing mine. One box has the mostly used ones, the other the overflow. :)

Put them on a ring. Hang the ring on a hook. When you need a particular cutter slide the cutters to the one you want and open the ring. If you have backless cutters you can use a bungie cord. Or just make a ring out of an old wire coast hanger.

Cookie Cutter Club of America I can send you or post the address (when I can find it) There are cookie cutter clubs all over America.
I've lost touch with them but have to get to communicating. I want to get rid of my vast
collection. I wish now I had cataloged them years ago.
right now I have them in boxes and save the original packing if you have it it used to increase their value (at least it did years ago)

Mine are in large Pepperidge Farm Pirouette cookie tins.

I put mine in those clear plastic "shoe boxes" you can buy at the dollar store. I sort by theme (holiday, geometric, ceramic molds, etc) and have each box labelled accordingly. Since I rarely use cookie cutters, I store them on the open shelves in the summer kitchen in the basement.

Plastic shoe boxes here, too. They live in the cabinet over my fridge, though I keep a couple very basic ones with my regular baking stuff.

Can you hang them on the wall? If not the next best thing would be a clear totes.

I keep mine in a large zipper plastic bag. Yes, it's a jumble, but they are all together. When my kids were little, I bought quite a few. I even have some Dinosaur cookie-cutters.

Since I think that the metal cookie cutters are so pretty, I keep mine in a large glass jar and have it set decoratively on top of my kitchen cupboards with various baskets and things.

I too keep mine in a big glass like a pickle jar, but don't keep them out on display as I don't have the room to put them out. I also have some in a metal decorative tin, an old one that coffee came in.

Hi schoolmarm (more lively than a "house"),

Cut a coat hanger right next to the top, form it into a round ring, with the cut end at the top, next to the part that hangs.

Cut another coat hanger and form it in a similar fashion.

Hang some cutters on one of them, with the ones seldom used placed on first. Same with the second hanger.

When you want to use a cutter that's, say, half a dozen in from the end, place that end alongside the end of the other hanger and slide the ones that you don't want from that one over on to the other hanger, pull the ends apart, and take off the cutter that you want.

Simple. Effective.

And, when you're not hung over ... hang those hangers any place that you want (you'll remember where you put them, that way).

I have a small, clear, plastic box that I put them in. I keep them in an old bedroom that I converted to a sewing room. There is a shelf unit in the closet that I use for things that I don't use every day. The room is near the kitchen, so it's convenient.

Putting them on a big ring to hang up, or ring made from a clothes hanger, are good ideas; but dust reigns supreme in my old house (where does the stuff come from?!) so it would be better to have them in a container or bag that can be sealed up. There's room for a plastic box in the cupboard where they are stored now, so I think that's what I'm going to use. Hopefully, I can find a deep one rather than wide.

A friend decorated the soffit in her kitchen with cookie cutters. She hung them on thin brad nails, scattered across the soffits. It was really cute.

I have my plastic cutters stored in a huge round Tupperware container on a top shelf in my cupboard and the metal ones I store in tin cookie boxes in the stove drawer. My friend always buys me a big box of "deluxe" cookies every Christmas so I save the boxes for storing things.

Many of my cookie cutters are now stored in my DDs kitchen since her 3 year old loves to have sandwiches and cookies made with them.

I sort mine by theme or season in clear plastic handled tote boxes that are slightly bigger than shoe boxes. I keep them in a spare closet.

I inventory the cutters in each box on an index card or cards which I slip along one side facing out so I can see at a glance what is in there.

I collect cookie cutters, more to look at than to use, since my daughter is grown, although if my house is ever finished, I plan to get back to cooking in a big way. I put mine in glass cannisters...sorted as to type...aluminum in one, copper in another, and the other ones I collect are the older clear, colored plastic ones...they are mostly red and blue...in another. I have several jars that are duplicates. I also collect old aluminum measuring spoons and various other little things...hard plastic scoops and measuring spoons with advertising on them, and they are in glass cannisters too.

I used to collect cookie cutters and had many that were my Mother's. They brought back so many memories of our baking and decorating cookies together. I kept them in the large glass pickle barrels. I had 3 of them sitting on top of my refrigerator and they looked really neat. I could also see the cutters when I wanted to pick certain ones out for baking.
They disappeared during my divorce. I contacted my ex's girlfriend and ask her about them, but she wouldn't tell me anything. I have missed those cookie cutters more than anything else that I've lost.

And, if we're a bereaved kid, the things that we care about and what we don't, among the things in our parent(s) household.
