Photos of Brazilian Diamond or Delicatus Light Granite?
Comments (11)No problem - I was struggling to find photos of it myself when I first started looking a few months ago. So I'm glad to pass along my knowledge!! Our perimeter cabinets will be white (Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace), island and desk are will be stained a dark brown and are maple. Our hardwood floors will be stained a medium brown to tie it all together. I love the neutral aspect of the granite so I can punch it up with red accessories, or violet, or a teal blue. I love how Bianco Antico can go with a cool look or a warm look. My favourite description of this granite is on the Casabella Website Interesting...the Casabella website says it's out of stock. Actually, I found it at a couple of granite suppliers and found it was selling like hotcakes, so much so that I was worried that we wouldn't be able to find slabs that we liked!! 4 grand seems like a lot for a small kitchen. Are you going with a super-fancy edge? Maybe you can negotiate? One last pic with our future hardwood floors:...See MoreIf you have delicatus granite....
Comments (16)dd70, Thanks for the pics! Looks great with your cab color! I have no clue about the unshiny spots you are concerned about. Sorry! Update on my delicatus dilemma: I was given a backsplash sample of "Delicatus" that I fell in love with but when I went to look at "Delicatus" prefab counters (couldn't get a great look as they were at the back of the stack), they really appeared different than the sample. The sample has loads of carmel consistently spread throughout it, but the counters had very little carmel and lots of cream & grey which won't go as well with my cabinet color. The carmel in the sample is what attracted me to this particular granite in the first place. Yesterday, I went to take another look and felt the same way so discussed it with my GC as he was ready to purchase it for me. I really prayed hard to receive clear direction as I continued to feel uneasy about my choice and time is running out. Well, GC told me about another granite place right near my house (wish I'd known about this first). Today I went with my sample "carmel-colored" backsplash and was pleasantly surprised to find a Persa that matches the backsplash almost perfectly. They truly look like they are the exact same granite which makes me wonder if my sample is something other than delicatus. The Persa looks more like the Gold Delicatus that iris16 posted. Anyway, they have what I need in stock so I'm planning to go take another look tomorrow so think I might be jumping the delicatus ship! This color will go so much better with my cabinet color. Just wanted to thank you for your help and let you know how much I enjoyed the pictures of your beautiful kitchens!...See MoreNeed help with Cabinet stain and backsplash for delicatus gold
Comments (19)Beautiful photos and before and afters. @cooldude, I was going to suggest a smooth travertine. You can do so much with it, setting it on the diagonal, straight with varying sizes, pencil moldings, inset accents, rectangular sizes big or small can be set in a myriad of configurations to make it your own. Here are some examples not all are your exact granite but just for show. Travertine comes in different shades from light to dark. As pretty as your granite is let it be the star and use something not too competitive for the backsplash, IMO. Good luck! Comments (23)cbeth, many of us have had difficulty with the backsplash because we did not have a vision of all three elements, the cabinet color, the granite and the backsplash. As a result, we have ripped out brand new backslashes and replaced them. I don't think this will be your case. I agree with Joanie. Take your time with the backsplash. There are so many tiles out there. Your granite can take you in many directions. I would wait until after the granite install. Your granite will be horizontal and reflect light differently, as will your cabinets. When you are ready to make your choices, you need to do it in your environment, with your lighting situation. Case in point. In the showroom, my Dove White cabinets had a creamy look. In my kitchen with lots of natural light, they looked stark white!...See Morexc60
