Thanks for the encouraging posts. I know drought sounds like it is not as bad, but on the other hand......I faithfully watered throught the summer. Even going so far as to transport 50 -1 gallon jugs of water from our park throught the summer so my well would not go dry and did not loose that many plants. Hard to keep an eye on the flooding, water kept rising all night long and finding it path to the river. Can not stay up all night and watch it and even get close. If you got close to parts of the garden, it was at least 6-8" of mud you would sink into. I'll take thr drought. So many things are rotting from sitting in that much water. My poor alliums that I planted last fall will not make it. Peonies do not like wet feet. I have so many peonies that are still trying to dry out, will see what happens eventually. The picture does not even capture how many peonies I know have in that corner that flooded. This was taken before my renovation to that corner.

I am here - rarely check in but it was a pleasant suprise to see a new post. My diet has flown the coop. I am starting to think I need a psychiatrist - seriously. What am I trying to solve with food? I am eating "healthy food" but way too much healthy food! I bought the Dr. Phil book for 25 cents and need to read it. There is a lady in this town that signed up on his website and we are getting together soon to work out a program. Getting plenty of exercise here - we had some nice days and I raked and burned and raked some more. Lots of sticks to pick up along the woods. Yesterday hubby, dogs and I walked. We had a sad experience walking a few weeks ago - a dachshund dog came out into the street and was hit as he tried to get to our dogs across the street. It was a sweet little dog and had to be put down from his injuries. How sad! The owners said the dog slipped out the front door but I think they let him out and never checked to see if there was anyone around. The family's 2 kids were in the yard and saw the whole thing. Horrible. TK I have been "sitting" 5 horses this week and have loved every minute. I get the benefits of being around the horses and get paid. I guess you meant by tough that the horse needs urging all the time? Those are tough on the legs. Lazy things. Good for you with that treadmill! Hubbys.....tsktsk. Prove him wrong! Hi Bev! Sounds like you are on track too. How is the weather in Missouri? Leaving tomorrow and returning Monday. Will go to sunrise service on the bay - will be pretty. I filled up the gas tank in the car yesterday - will save a dime or 2. We are taking the big truck to Chincoteague. Bye all, Kathy

I couldn't talk this morning b/c site was down so here goes--long post! NH Suzanne~Always love Rock's pic! He's so gorgeous. Raeanne~Love ya Sistah! Trekaren~ Your chicken breast recipe sounds good. I had my eyes dilated on Tuesday but they said everything looked good. I don't think they'll do it again. My eyes are very sensitive to the stuff they use & stay dilated way longer than they are supposed to. Dee~Glad you finally had a chance to write a little & hope you get caught up soon. Wodka~Your yard must be beautiful again this year. You always work so hard on it. Milkdud~I did 3 layouts yesterday. How's the wedding album coming? Silversword~I'd just about trade ya. It's been 92 degrees here. Joyce~The clothes getting loser are the main thing--the weight loss will follow. Besh~So sorry DH has mono. Ugh! Congrats on your 10# weight loss. John~So glad to finally hear from you. I've missed you terribly. Congrats on your #18 loss, the #125 gain (lol), & the new car. Please hurry back. Elelektos~"Date Night"~What fun! We all love our children but we need adult interaction as well. Our weight fluctuates--that is why it is best to weigh the same day of the week at the same time. It is a better indicator. Try not to get on the scale so often. It discourages us too much if we let it. :-) QOD~I'm going to the Gulf Coast to scrapbook with a couple of friends tomorrow & Sunday Dave is picking up our friend who has been in the rehab center & bringing him back home. I think that is about it for us. Have a great weekend. Patti :-)

I have been using the FlyLady system and finding that the more I do my basic daily routines the more time I have for other things. For the past couple of weeks I've been doing a lot of purging and reorganizing. I went through and purged countless papers in DH's office as well as my own. We bought a bookcase yesterday and I spent a lot of time yesterday reorganizing my office and loading up the new bookcase with books. Today I reorganized 3 kitchen drawers, put a couple new organizers in. I unpacked 3 boxes just today (we moved here about 18 months ago, still haven't settled in totally due partially to the renovations we've been doing). I did more organizing and purging in my office today, got rid of old catalogues and magazines, reorganized drawers and cupboards, and now have empty storage space!!! DH built a bench seat for the kitchen for storage, hung a floating shelf in the kitchen, and a shelf for my chef statue. I find that once the purging is done and you have created suitable storage space for the things you use and love, the room really comes together as part of a lovely home! The problem is, DH wants to build everything, so in the meantime I have to make the best of the storage spaces I have, but every little bit helps! I find nothing makes me feel better than having a room that is clean, decluttered, and organized. If you're feeling uninspired try cleaning out a drawer, or buying a little storage shelf unit that you need, and sort through your things and display what you love and get rid of everything else! The feeling is contagious, it is sometimes hard to stop once you get going, which is why I need the Flylady system so much, 15 min. baby steps will get you there, so you still have time for the daily routines that keep your mind at peace!
