The Kitchen Table

Our puppy's new name is........ (Plus pics)

Lassen! We really liked looking at all the potential names, but in the end, they just didn't fit him. :) Lassen is the mountain to the east of our town and we also have property that we'll be building on in the next couple of years. Thank you everyone for taking the time to make suggestions- KT'ers are the BEST!

So my BIL finally came to pick up his Lab and now we're finally down to Britain and Lassen- what a relief! BIL's lab was like a bull in a china shop, LOL! As it is, Lassen follows Brit' around, sleeps with him (under our bed), eats with him and plays with him. We've had only a few accidents in the house so far and I am thrilled with his intelligence. : D We've kept them very busy and DH loves to cuddle his puppy at night while unwinding. So far, so good!

Blessings,

Haley

What a sweet face...those eyes are so expressive. My daughter had a Siberian Husky and he was the smartest dog! I love that name too. Congratulations Haley!

Dante is adorable (and so is Max). We had our yard opened up for the pond tour today, and someone brought a young Boston Terrior along for the ride. It was a surprise, because I wasn't expecting anyone to bring their pets with them, but this little guy was totally excited about seeing the fish. You could tell he was their "baby". I always love seeing pictures of your pond and your beautiful longfins.

I am SO counting the days til we bring her home...The breeder is going to send me pictures weekly so I can see...I can also go over there any time I want just to "hang" with her. I'm having empty nest syndrome SO bad...After we had to put our Boxer down a month ago, we were going to wait to get another dog, but I told him I can't STAND this quiet...After having 4 kids and now they are all gone, and then the dog, it's been really hard for me. Ariel is perfect!!!...Thanks for the comments guys!!! Caren/knotz

New puppy needing a name (pics finally)

Well I had hoped to take a few new pics to post and announce her name at the same time. I tried a few favorite names out on her, and it seems the one 'she' likes best is Ginger (Ginger Snap when the situation calls for firmness.) She fetches, loves her ball and rolling it under the chair, and then going under the chair and playing with it there. She sleeps in her Pet Taxi, and settles down once she knows I too am in bed and settled down for the night. She stayed out the other night (was only in the 50's I think) and slept in the back of the truck in some mulch, along with 2 of the other girls. Little by little the other girl's are accepting her better and there is less growling. I'll keep you posted with pics as she grows up. Thanks to all for all your wonderful (and some not so wonderful...lol) names. Sue and Ginger

Oh, Colleen, Calvin sure is a cutie pie! He looks so serious under his nice shady hidey place. Thanks for posting the picture and please keep the pix coming. Giving Bonnie a haircut wasn't easy. Puppies are a challenge, but first haircuts are the worst. It's not easy to give a haircut to a moving target! For doing around the eyes I use thinning shears. They are blunt on the ends. They give a nice raggedy natural look around the eyes. Straight or curved regular blades tend to give a chopped look I don't like. To work around the eyes I grab a hunk of beard to hold their head steady. I don't want to take any chances of poking them in the eye. I think if you call a groomer and ask for a tidy up on a pup who's not quite ready for his first full haircut, and take in a bathed and brushed/comed (to the skin -- no mats) dog they aren't going to charge you much or take very long. It would probably be a good junior practice session for Calvin too. I wish you lived next door. Our pups would have such fun romping together and we could train them together too. :)

Very cute, and I don't even LIKE puppies. :)

Well, okay, I do like puppies. But they're a lot of work.

Congrats on the new sweet thing in your life. I hope you have many happy years together.

Completely adorable - there is nothing quite as great as "new puppy smell" unless it's "new baby smell"! :)
