Oh boy well, the cabinets are builder grade late 1980s orangey oak. I know! But my husband owned it before we got married and we lived there for a few years while we had a baby and renovated our "forever house," so we did nothing to it at all. Haha, it's a perfectly preserved 1988 time capsule. The only thing i feel like it's worth doing is slapping a coat of paint on it. Probably whoever buys will end up putting in their own new kitchen. I'm sorry i don't have a way to upload pictures right now. But just picture the standard kitchen of a couple decades ago! Would grey paint make it look slightly more modern or would it look like it's fighting with the almond and orange oak?

I tried the browns and I don't care for them. I think that the room doesn't have enough natural light and there is too much wall space for a such dark colors, at least not without more natural light. My kitchen is eat in, but it's own room. I love the color with the cabinets, but with the the rest of the room I feel it's oppressive. Does anyone have any suggestions for a light color, or at least much lighter? I do like the way the colors that tibbrix tie in the counters, but it's not going to work for my space. Would a griege be a potential option?

Maybe two-tone? Paint some but not all? I really agree with everyone else that the worst thing in that kitchen is the backsplash. And painting all the cabinets is just SO much work -- by you or by someone you pay a lot of money to do all that work. It just seems like better bang for your buck to lose the backsplash and keep some or all of the cabinets as they are. When you take more pictures, can you please take pictures of all the cabinets? I wonder if it's just that there are too many cabinets overall that are making the stain tone especially overwhelming. Especially in kitchens the age of your parents', people tended to just fill every nook and cranny with identical cabinets. No variation, and no breathing room. Today, we are favoring fewer cabinets -- especially fewer uppers -- and cabinets with mixed finishes, etc. to make our kitchens less like a cabinet showroom and less claustrophobic. I wonder if there is a bank of uppers you can remove and replace with art or a window that would make a bigger difference than just painting everything white. I'm also wondering how much the lighting is contributing. Could swapping out very yellow bulbs for cooler-colored lighting help? I'm just wondering how overwhelming that cabinet stain would be if half of it at eye-level (the uppers) disappeared, the lighting was cooler, and the wall/counter colors actually toned it down a bit.

Need paint color suggestions for kitchen/dining room combo-room is only 11 x22. Cabinets are white-counter is Cambria Laneshaw-primary color is black- w tan & some off white (backsplash has similar colors.) The rooms are adjacent to living room that currently has dark panelling on 3 walls. Painting contractor works with Benjamin Moore products. Thank you
