Soap doesn't affect the future insects. it kills the insects that are coated with soap spray. Just apply it to the heavily infested growth tips. I can't make out the image of the winged insect, but if it is nearly immobile and looks like a winged aphid, that's what it is. Many beneficial predators will be present when aphids are thick, including syrphid flies and larvae, lacewing adults and larvae, ladybugs and larvae, and tiny wasps. They will almost always gain control of the aphids within a few weeks. Wiping off the thickest concentrations of aphids is a suitable control measure. Spraying water is fine, although many of the aphids will climb back up the rose. Aphids don't do significant harm unless they encrust the stems continuously for over a week.

I must be in a hot spot, there are a dozen or more of these doves at a time and the cooing in the evening comes from every direction. They are the first to arrive in the morning and the last visitors of the evenng. Funny thing, I first hung the feeder from a 2X4 propped in the V of the twin trunks of our River Birch, the squirrels had a field day. A couple evenings ago I got fed up and went to Home Depot and bought a 2" PVC pipe and elbow and hung the feeder out of squirrel reach. You should see the squirrel run and jump/climb half way up only to slide back down fireman style. He then began digging at the base and doing flips and chasing his tail, maybe out of frustration. He now joins the birds on the ground for the spillage and eyes the feeder from time to time. As I type this he is on the tree trunk staring at the feeder, seems to be judging if he can make the 10 foot leap.

There are no damaged baseboards. There are just termites that come out of the cracks of the floorboards and die since the application of orange oil. In terms of visible damage, there is slight bubbling on the floorboards, which I honestly think is due to the 2 applications of orange oil actually rather than actual termite damage. They weren't there until right after the oil was applied. I have communicated numerous times with my HOA with pictures and videos regarding all the termite issues. I don't see anything in our HOA CC&R documents regarding termite/pest control. There are some lines about the HOA being in charge of the "common area", which is gray since this is IN my unit, but possibly coming from the building structure which I assume is a "common area. In terms of who selected the termite company, I was going to have a termite company of my choosing come, but they were hard to schedule with so the HOA actually scheduled a different termite company that came to do the orange oil treatments and they split the cost with me. The HOA board pasted flyers on each residents' doors asking if they had termites, and only 1 other person said they had previous termite issues, but nothing recently. In terms of fumigation, the HOA president said that it is almost impossible to get all tenants to agree to do fumigation, the costs are too high, and coordination of scheduling the procedure and security issues would be challenging. I have a 3rd termite company coming this weekend to give an updated and new opinion about this and what to do. From my conversations with these termite companies, they all seem confused why I'm seeing these anyway since they usually stay in the wood - from this thread, it sounds like they must be escaping something or searching for food, not sure. I really don't know how the termite company can even find the source, unless they intend to rip up my floor? and all this talk about suing/getting lawyers involved seems very costly to me.
