Mmm...very tempting, espeically since my other small appliances are red. Except that I know I'd be disappointed in it after using the older KA for so many years. (May it rest in peace.) My MIL has a newer one, and we both cuss a lot when we use it. LOL! That copper bowl would be gorgeous in a blue ktichen!

It's funny, when I asked a similar question a few months ago, everyone here told me to reduce the price. IMHO, if showings have slowed a lot the last couple weeks, you've lost your "new listing freshness" and now it becomes a matter of being priced right. I'm in a slow market, but houses that are priced right or well, sell within a few weeks. You can lower your price without mentioning "reduced price" and looking desperate -- which you're not. Just lower it that $10K to get into the next lower price bracket, get back into all of the realtors' emails, print up new flyers, but don't draw attention to the new price. You'll know if the price reduction was "enough" if your showings jump back up again. If not, you have to decide how low you're willing to go and how long you're willing to wait. Because if you're not "priced to sell," you only bet is appealing to someone emotionally as their "dream house" that they have to have, despite the price, which is gonna take longer.

Most of the kitchen terry towels I've purchased in the last 6 years have been designed to be SEEN, not used. Unfortunately, we happen to USE ours. I found some high-quality, large, kitchen towels at Tuesday Morning and bought up all they had; and the last two weeks I've purchased some kitchen towels made with Egyptian Cotton, at Big Lots - both of these were nice and large. I've purchased some each week for the last 2 weeks and will add more this week when I do my weekly shopping. I should have enough of these better-quality, larger and thicker towels to put in storage for another day. Who knows when I'll find such nice ones ever again.... I like loop, not cut, pile on kitchen towels. Which seem to be harder to find. Thanks for suggesting hand towels. I have a friend who has used them for years because they were bigger and less expensive when she checked clearance tables and wasn't picky about what color they were. -Grainlady

Breezygirl thanks for sharing your plan and posting pics. I call the nine lights that are to either side of and those centered on the island "island lights" - so I got palimpsest's intent... I could have been clearer on that. I relate to the wait til we can afford it comment too! It's hard to draw the line on what should we do now and what can be left to later. I sometimes feel the pressure of "do it now" or it won't get done. calumin - oh my.. I read, reread, yellow highlighted and reread again multiple times those threads on the lighting forum for weeks.... it was an education process for sure! Like learning a foreign language. I also posted my original plan on the lighting and the kitchen forum and then incorporated those comments into a revised plan. And was most pleased that davidtay looked at it :). Now it seems i am undoing those comments and heading back to closer to where I started :). scrappy 25 - it IS a lot of cans, I agree. The lumen calculation was for twelve cans - and this plan has three more than that! The 4" cans seem to make a lot of difference in the number of cans needed per the lumen calculation. A little mind boggling to me but I tried to follow the expert's recommendations and guidelines on that. Oh I just wish I could KNOW what is best and how it will really look. lauraT88 - I really appreciate your advisement cautioning about eliminating too much. I feel caught between "Is it too much?" or "Will it be to little" if I eliminate some. I definitley do not want pendants or other semi or flush mounted fixtures - other than the dining area chandelier. there is a lot going on visually in the entire space and something else hanging down is distracting and clutter like. I REALLY appreciate the alternatives you suggested too. Dayton designer - thanks for confirmation on the cost - it's overwhelming how much some of these things are. I'm going to take everyone's comments, and any more that come, and see what I can do to regroup on this kitchen plan. I am living with the fear of what if I do and what if i don't - both are feeling a little uncomfortable right now.
