The only time I nap is when I am sick.....if I fall asleep during the day it is usually because I am coming down with something. If I do take a nap, I have to get undressed, into pj's and crawl under the covers.....and sleep for at least 90 minutes. My mom used to take quick 20 minute naps....and be good to go. I don't fall asleep sitting in the recliner or reading during the day but have to have a book to read at bedtime to fall asleep.

Sue used to say that I could sleep any time and any place. When I worked in the bar of a hotel in Alberta 30 years ago, room and restaurant included, I'd be sitting at the stool at the counter in the restaurant, reading the Edmonton paper ... ... and fell off of the stool! It took me a while to forget that one! And I'd fish the leftover crusts out of the ice cream bucket, where they collected to feed the dog, and put them under the grill. The staff used to tell me to use the fresh mid-loaf slices, and I said that when we were kids we used to fight over the crusts - they weren't garbage to us, by any means. And they said that I should put them into the toaster. I said that the grill was going anyway, and it'd take extra power to heat the toaster so it seemed to me wise to use the grill, even though I needed to turn the bread over. What did I care - it wasn't me who paid the power bill. I said that wasting it wasn't a good idea, whether it was my wallet or someone else's. One day, the owner brought me a slice, burned black to a crisp, in a soup bowl ... that I'd placed ... and forgotten. It took me a while to live that one down, as well! I often have a rather short night, as I tend to stay up late. Now ... sometimes I find my nose hitting the kitchen table ... or the computer desk (often, late at night). Have fallen off of the chair, on ocasion. I used to have a recliner, but no longer. I can take a nap on top of the bed, which sometimes stretches to a couple of hours. When I was a youth, about 2 in the afternoon, we'd get sleepy when working the tractor, and going to sleep could cause some problems, so we'd climb off, lie down on the ground for 10 min. or so, and be good to go again. ole joyfuelled

Feathers, I often have a cup of tea or something as an afternoon pick me up. I like to take my mornings slow, eat around 11:00 and then really hit it between 12:00 and 4:00. Denali, that makes perfect sense about inactivity. I have taken on several home projects during the pandemic, and although I rarely "go" anywhere, it keeps me active. But I am so ready for spring!! Oakley, yes, I know what not paying attention means. It just surprises me you can focus on the computer, etc. Heck, I don't have ADHD, but it doesn't take alot to get me sidetracked from one project to another!!
