FOAS, the kids liked the Stromboli too, but Madi was afraid of the skull. Afraid of the monster on the window too, even after I told her they were my friends.

Thanks, John. The treats are fun, and could be anything from breadstick fingers to cookies shaped like bones. There were to be witch fingers made of cheese straws with almonds for nails, but Madi came to "help" on Halloween and I got a bit behind, LOL. It was so worth it.

cooking2day, that's Elery's guitar. Both he and Ashley play, and Ashley also plays the flute, the keyboard and she's working on the banjo. Amanda plays the saxophone. Everyone plays something except me and I can't even get the blasted iPod to work!

dedtired, Bud IS getting big, isn't he? 4'2" now, and just turned 8, he's a long way from that chubby little "Bruvver" he used to be. (sigh) And The Princess is nearly as tall as me, and already taller than my Mother.

Mitch, just when I think I'm getting good at cake, I have a spectacular failure, LOL. Keeps me realistic, at least. The brains were a success, but the eyeballs were not. It wasn't the cake it's that darned vanilla coating, I hate the stuff!

Betty, Halloween is always more fun with the kids, it lets me behave like a juvenile delinquent!

Cathy, would you be a cheerleader? I still have a few cupcakes and a brain or two. But, I suppose you put that uniform on, the Coach will never let you get away!

I can't believe how big the kids are getting...especially the Monkey Princess. Is it just this pic or is she really looking very much like her Mom?

I recall vividly you posting here when you first knew that Amanda was expecting....so much has changed for all of us since then.

Thanks, Diane, the kids are sure growing, aren't they? Makayla is now officially 3 inches shorter than me, and only 1/2 an inch shorter than my Mother. It's crazy, and Bud is going to be bigger than all of us, I think!

Dcarch, I don't have an age cut off for trick or treaters, I figure you're never too old for free candy. (grin)

Rusty, the brains are made with a silicone ice cube mold. I just melted some pink Wilton candy melts, smeared it up the sides of the mold, let it set, filled it up with cake, then smeared some more candy on top (bottom?) to seal it. Let it sit for a few minutes to get firm and pop it out of the silicone mold. Voila! Brains. The only problem is that the mold only makes 4, so you have to repeat the process as many times as it takes, so it gets a bit time consuming.

Sharon, Makayla looks more like her mother all the time, it's always kind of surprising to me. Yes, things have changed a lot in the last 11 years or so, haven't they? Makes me kind of soppy too.....

Heck, Ashley was only 14 then, now she's out of college, married, working, has two kids. Dad was still alive and so was the WonderWeiner. (sigh) And I was still married to the ex, so good and bad, LOL. Where has time gone?
