Ticor Sink Strainers????
Comments (8)I just had a S305 Ticor Undermount Sink installed (based on your pictures, I'm sure the strainer baskets must be the same). I have a GD so I had to choose between the two strainers. The plumber thought both were fine and didn't recommend one over the other. DW liked the regular better so that's what we went with. It works very well so far and will stopper without leaking. Incidentally, I kept the basket strainer as a backup and the lid to that fits on the regular strainer and gives an extra tight seal. HTH....See MoreRecommend Basket Strainer for New Silgranit Sink?
Comments (5)Elizpiz and trudymom - thanks for the Oxo Info - looks excellent. I will need to find some kind of 'total stopper' for those few occasions I want to fill the sink but that doesn't/won't happen often. I'm afraid I'm a bit of a baddy in that I wash/rinse off much under running water. Oh - so see what actually READING does for one? The sink does comes with a strainer which presumably closes the drain for water leakage. I'll keep that under the sink for those few times I actually want to do that. :-) Maubles - thanks for the info but that sounds to me like the painfully aggravating situation I already have. If the drain close that comes with this sink ends up not really working (along with the many others I've had) I'll look into your suggestion for sure. And in case an other Sigranit peeps are reading - I've seen several wonderings about hot pots and Silgranit. The specs I have for mine read that Sil will accept without problems a pot up to 280 degrees. Great info gals - thanks so much. Comments (8)Hi luvmyhouse I have them. I have had this sink for 2 months now. I wasn't sure if I NEEDED to have the matching sink basket and waste stopper, as I think they are pricey...but I went ahead and got them, along with the sink grids. I guess they look better, because they blend in with the sink. They are a very nice quality, and do not scratch the sink. Are they a "must have"? No...but then again I don't know what the alternative would look like. Here's the best shot I have of my sink...It's a Blanco. KA:)...See MoreBlanco Siligranite Undermount Sink Depth
Comments (14)While standing for long periods at a deep sink can cause backache for taller people who have to bend more, there are other causes of back ache at the sink. And there are other ways you can mitigate the issue. Get a faucet that reaches farther toward the front of your sink. Some of the high arch faucets' spouts are very close to the rear of the sink, and make you have to reach farther, which means bending more. Even just a couple of inches make a difference. You can look for faucets that have a longer reach toward the front, of 9" or more. One nice one is the Hansgrohe Allegro E Gourmet, either the high arc version (10-3/8" reach) or the Semipro version (11-3/8" reach), but there are many other faucets to choose from. My point is, be mindful of the reach length of the faucet you choose. The type of floor you have can contribute to backache. Tile can cause back strain for some people. If you are able to, try a cork or wood floor. Also buy one of those gel mats to stand on in front of the sink (there's been some threads about those on this Forum, if you want to google). As noted in posts above, a sink grid will help because it raises the depth another inch or so....See Morecarolt924
