teething already?

My DD just turned 3 months last week. The other day she was extremely irritable, drooling a lot, her cheeks looked flushed, and she was gnawing on my arm. This seems like obvious teething symptoms to me, but isn't it a bit early for that?

My DD has been teething since she was 2 months (she is 6 months now) and still no teeth have come through. So, no it isn't too early. I asked her ped. and he said that it is normal for them to start drooling and gnawing on things at an early age. I hope this helps a little!

My DS started teething at 3 months as well. Teething can start long before you will see an actual tooth break through. He cut his first tooth at 6 month, the second one one week later.

I've had an unsatisfactory experience with Dramatic Smiles. The package I ordered had one less syringe than advertised. Their only contact is email - no phone number. I've sent several emails and have received the same four(4) automatic responses: "Thank you for contacting Dramatic Smiles. We have received your message and will respond to it soon." Well "soon" has still not arrived. With an M.O. like this, they must exist on new business because they certainly are not cultivating repeat customers.

So weird. I just got through with this. 1. Aching pain pretty constant. Dentist tried to locate the cause. Not really conclusive. Sent me to the endodontist. 2. Endodontist diagnosed a bad filling in the tooth that seemed to be aching, very old. And we did a root canal. I then left on vacation. What timing. 3. Holy cow the pain! It just started. Different than before. One drop of cold water and it was like the electric chair. Even a fast inhale. I thought "crap, he did the root canal in the wrong tooth." 4. 7 days and 80 advils later, the pain is gone. Vanished. Just like that. 5. Go to my regular dentist. He says he thinks he sees something...a small old filling in between 2 teeth popped out. Maybe that's the source. Going to have it filled again Monday. But really, since the cruise I haven't had any pain. 6. I have a feeling I'm grinding. I get more aware of clenching, and I think I will get a guard to test it out. Good luck!

You don't say how old you are, but I'm guessing that you are getting on in years. It's natural that the gums shrink and there is also some bone loss in the jaw. The shape of the jaw can actually change a little. Ask your dentist, it might be a good idea to get a new set made. Otherwise, I think the only option is either to have them lined again or just put up with them like they are.

I agree, you shouldn't feel sorry Kat. You mainly posted it to vent out your disapproval of your nephew worthlessness. Funny how life and people are. I've been disabled all my life and all my life I refused to do what your nephew is doing. I worked hard because I enjoyed spending my own money rather than the government's & the taxpayers'. I'm not one that likes to abuse the system. Almost 2 years ago, my disability changed its course and forced me to quit working. I am now living on disability income. You just don't know how much I miss going to work and make my own money. When I had to apply, the social security agent could see how much I was in distressed. She tried to comfort me by stressing out that I've paid my dues all these working years. And, that I shouldn't feel bad now for living on SS Disability, that's what was there for. I am not depressed but I feel empty and useless. I don't understand how anyone would enjoy or accept feeling this way. A counselor had told me that it's usually how she has seen. The physical cabable ones don't want to work and just want to live on welfare; yet, the disabled ones try harder to be in among the working force. The system is there to help the needy ones but there are so much abuse over it. It's very sadden indeed.

My little one started at about 2.5 months. She drools, chomps on that little hand etc. But no teeth yet. I will just wait and see.

Timberly started teething at 3 months, too, her bottom teeth appeared around 6 mos!

Elsa is teething too and she just turned 4m. She has been for at least a month now. My son had his first tooth when he was 4m and by the time he was 8m he already had 5 teeth! So it really is normal for them to teethe this young. Good luck. My son had a really hard time with all of his teeth...and other kids just suddenly have a tooth with no signs at all...I'm hoping for the latter with Elsa.

My DD is 3 months old too and also has those symptoms but I didn't even think of relating it to teething. Maybe that's why she keeps preferring her arm over her pacifier! At first I thought she might be a little ill, but the fussiness comes and goes so I just figured "oh well." I just assumed this behavior was normal for this age. Your DD isn't alone!
