I've had an unsatisfactory experience with Dramatic Smiles. The package I ordered had one less syringe than advertised. Their only contact is email - no phone number. I've sent several emails and have received the same four(4) automatic responses: "Thank you for contacting Dramatic Smiles. We have received your message and will respond to it soon." Well "soon" has still not arrived. With an M.O. like this, they must exist on new business because they certainly are not cultivating repeat customers.

I feel for you. I have a 1 year old who has gingivitis problems. He's part siamese and from what I've read they are prone to gingivitis problems. There is also another condition that causes inflamed gums and throat tissue in cats-stomatitis(?)- I think it is an immune system issue and is often treated with anti-inflamatory meds. I am not in Chicago, so can't offer any advice there, but it unclear from your post if you have taken your cat to the vet for further assessment. She may need something other than a dental cleaning. My cat is young and has perfect teeth still, it's the gum tissue that needs attention. We've used a pet product made by Biotene (you can look it up on Amazon if you want further information). It is an enzyme based product that is suppose to help relieve the bacterial situation that leads to chronic mouth problems. They make both a treatment gel and a maintenance gel. Our guy didn't mind the taste, but it didn't work as well we'd hoped (we did have some improvement though). A lot of people have had good luck with these products though. If you haven't already, it would probably be a good idea to take your cat to a vet and have the condition assessed to find out what is really going on. With our guy we've switched to a product we bought at the health food store, which works well as long as I'm vigilant. I'm hesitant to name it here because the name is very similar to another substance that is poisonous to animals. Best of luck.

OJ, you are indeed a joy. I might be moving next door. sammy -- what she said ;). You can also put extra Sensodyne on your DRY toothbrush and you can, after brushing gently, leave the S'dyne on your teeth for a few minutes. There's no rush to remove it. Another good product (I've used it for many years) is Colgate Previ-Dent. It remineralizes the enamel (there is some ion exchange that goes one). The enamel gets "harder" (stronger). You must use it daily/or nightly. I grew up drinking un-fluoridated water, unfortunately. But with daily flossing, rinsing (privately swishing) after meals, using a good toothbrush (Oral-B is better than the "ultrasonic" brand, IMO) with a light touch and 3 seconds per surface (buccal and lingual -- no need to brush the chewing surface), I have greatly reduced cavities and my dental bills. I also pay extra (no insurance, cash) for a good prosthodontist (Spelling off?) who is picky nit picky :-) I had my teeth whitened many years ago. Whew! They got so very sensitive. I' like to lighten them again, but cannot afford to. So please let us know how your strips or gels work. As most people age, apparently they get long in the tooth as well as dark. Thinner enamel with the darker dentin showing through.) I hope you feel more comfortable soon, always---.

“Overly straight teeth” can be a thing, can be a notable contributor to the chiclet look along with, obviously, color. A good veneer job today will leave teeth looking natural, both in shape and color. As for whitening, it’s a timely topic as I just allowed my daughter to get a bleaching product from her orthodontist. Ortho says it’s safe and uses it herself, but while I haven’t researched the particular brand I do tend to think that in general these things aren’t great for your teeth. Unfortunately my daughter went through a lengthy phase where her oral hygiene was somewhat lacking, and while I fought her a lot on it there’s only so much you want to call attention to a girl’s physical flaws without risking giving her a complex. Fortunately she’s past that stage and actually spends a lot of time on her teeth, but they did continue to look yellow which stood out on her has she has prominent teeth and a fair complexion. So she’s used it a couple times now and her teeth look worlds better without being overly white in the least. I’m encouraging her to stop using the product now, to save it for a touch up once or twice a year as her ortho says she does. I use the Colgate whitening pen, it made a clear but subtle difference. I’m still many shades removed from refrigerator, but happy with how they look and will also hit them once every several months for touch up.
