It is amazing that henbane produces a huge amount of seedsÂfrom 10,000 to half a million per plantÂand as few as 10-20 are enough to poison a child. All parts of henbane are poisonous. They contain the same alkaloids Âbelladonna does, namely: hyoscine, hyoscyamine, atropine, and scopolamine. In fact, henbane is less toxic than belladonna because the amount of its alkaloids is ten times as little. The poisoning effect of the plant rarely leads to death. Teething AND discovering her world, much like a human baby! She also may be attempting to "nurse" your fingers, being that 6-7 weeks of age is a bit young to be fully weaned for a kitten. Most reputable breeders will wait 10-14 weeks before adopting litters out. No safe teething tablets, per se, but encouraging "hunting" play (as with a feather on a string), offering small, soft cat treats (you can make them soft by putting a few drops of water on them and wait for the water to soak in), and discouraging the chewing. When my foster kittens start to use my fingers as chew toys, I gently push back. As in, push my finger toward the back of their throat. They don't like the feeling, and eventually, the behavior stops. This does not hurt them. The point is NOT to gag them, just to give them an uncomfortable feeling, kind of like a "that piece of meat is too big for my gullet" feeling. Hope my suggestions help! A side note, now would be the time to get a vet visit lined up for baby's first vaccines and check-up!

Jo-I just saw this, but I wanted to respond. I would talk to your doctor if you feel like his behavior has changed. In Fairfax County they have a program called Child Find. I'm sure your area has something similar. You can talk to them FREE and they can evaulate Brody (although he may be too young?) in many areas. Katie also has a tooth breaking through and is trying to crawl. Some days she is a nightmare to hold or feed. All she does is wiggle and squirm. Teething can be pretty painful and make them miserable. Sometimes sucking on a bottle aggravates the tooth pain. Or if he is having an allergy/reflux, his stomach may be upset? Reflux seems to be quite common among my friends kids. Mostly, I just wanted to tell you to hang in there. It's not easy being a mom, esp the first time. We worry about lots of stuff! I know you love Brody and he definitely loves you back. You have NOT failed him. The simple fact that you're so worried tells me how much you love him and want the best for him! gyr I don't know what to recommend. I have the basic ones. In the past, I also had the deluxe, cause once I lost one of the basic ones while walking. But I didn't really like the velcro strap to cost THAT much... and knew, I can also use a shoe string to tie across the top of the shoe, after hooking in to each side of the yaktrax. I am still replacing stuff I had sold or given away when I went to Florida, and am on a tight budget right now, thus, the cheap pair. I also bought something from Ace hardware store here locally, but wasn't that impressed with it. Since I LOVED the yaktrax before, I ordered them via Amazon. No matter what, I hope, you can find a pair, to store in your car for future uses. :) Moni
