Oil-based paint adjacent to latex paint

Hi all, we were stuck using oil-based paint in a lot of our trim b/c it's an old house with oil-based already there (and cost in removing it didn't make sense). But in our reno we have also put in some new things, such as wainscoting, mudroom cubbies, and a master closet system. Our GC wants to use the same oil-based paint on those areas so that it all matches as he claims the difference will be noticeable if the trim is oil-based but the other items are latex. I would like to avoid using more oil-based for lots of reasons, including it is somewhat toxic, smells terrible, hard to maintain and may be outlawed in future. Can anyone tell me if it will truly look bad to have latex white items next to oil-based trim? Thanks!
