I first became interested in growing older varieties of fruit after reading a book in the early 1970's, though it was many years before I followed through. The book was published in the very late 60's or early 70's. I'm sorry to way that I remember very little about it other than that it was illustrated. Each variety discussed had a page or two or three and an illustration. It may have been all about apples and it may have included other fruit; I don't remember. I'm putting together a personal fruit-growing book collection and I'd like to get my hands on a copy of the book that kicked it all off. Does anyone have an idea what this book might have been? leslie6ri, mad gallica and ginny12 - thank you so much for your help! Sadly, it's not any of these books or authors but ginny12's suggestion was def in the right direction! More clues... -I purchased it from Borders, new, in the early 2000's. It was on the discount rack. -It showed less than 10 landscapes -Each landscape had at least 2, maybe even 4 pages dedicated to each one. I have to thank everyone for entertaining and helping on this. I must have read this book cover to cover a million times (you'd think I'd remember a little more about it...).

Thank you, that's it! I never would have found it by the title. Originally just skimmed it while out and planned to read it when I got home, but days went by and so did the thread. Definitely want to check out that book. Sounds like it would apply to more than just a kitchen redo. Feel like I'm always weighing something or other and often think life was so much easier when I was a poor grad student when everything I owned fit in a car and decisions were more obvious.... for everything.
