The teddy bear in the wagon picture you have in the nursery is the exact same one I had in my DD's nursery 22 years ago! DD's birthday is today!

Thank you everyone! It's been fun doing all of this again. There are a lot of neat changes since I had Alyssa 18 years ago....like strollers with drink holders! LOL!

Suzieque, this Itty-bitty is only my 2nd. I will have this little one April 1st, then in May my daughter Alyssa will turn 18 and graduate. So yes, this one was a bit of a surprise...but one we are all excited for!

My mom-in-law, Nola Anne, comes here to the KT, too. I will ask her to post to let you know what I have. I will post pictures soon after.

Lydia, the pictures above the changing table are ones that my dh and I found last summer at a garage sale right after we found out I was pregnant. How neat that you had the same picture for your daughter!

Wishing you well with the birth of your "Itty Bitty". There were many years between my first and my last daughter also. I was not able to view the baby's room because of my slow dial up but I am sure it is really cute.

Our recent experience with 'an older mother':

Our new DGD arrived not quite five weeks ago -- six years after her big brother. Our DIL will be 39 this spring. Because she too is 'an older mother', her OB had her in for weekly non-stress tests on the baby over the last six weeks of the pregnancy. DIL was to be induced if the pregnancy went beyond full term, but the baby came right on her due date -- almost nine pounds. Labor was only four hours, but hard and fast. (Very diferent from DGS's birth -- prolonged labor with C-section waiting in the wings.)

At her one-month checkup, Baby Genevieve has already put on a pound an a half! DIL is pumping and bottle-feeding so that she and our DS can take turns feeding, changing, rocking. The 'fun' part has begun -- as it will for you!

May I ask why you'll have a C-section? (This whole 'older mother' routine has been a learning experience.)

Hi Chisue. That's interesting about your DIL having to take non-stress tests each week at the end. I haven't had to do anything different. I'm 39. I'm glad to hear that Baby Genevieve was an easy delivery for her though, and a healthy good size baby, too!

When I had Alyssa, she was an emergency c-section and they had to cut me up and down (vertical), instead of the normal horizontal cut. And once you're cut that way, you have to deliver that way from then on. There's no VBAC's after a vertical cut.

We are all getting more excited each day...6 days to go now! OH, and at my pre-surgery testing yesterday, they told me they moved my surgery time up to 7:30 instead of 8, so we have a half hour less to wait now! LOL!

GOOD LUCK! I had a tubal when I was 35 (now 49) - my now DH & I decided that neither wanted any more kids and then had kind of a scare so I took action. Sometimes I have had regrets/second thoughts but overall the right thing to do. Life does happen, right?

Hosta, I'm getting a tubal, too. My Dr. is doing it when he does the c-section.

Thanks for the information on the reason for the C-section. That also explains why I've seen lobbying for women to NOT have C-sections; presumes they are able to avoid it!

We were laughing about the non-stress tests before Genevieve was born. Seems if the baby is sleeping during the tests they use a buzzer to wake him/her so that they can measure activity. Gen never needed to be 'buzzed'! DS predicted a girl early on; said the baby was 'fussy' about Mom's sleeping positions.

Only a few days until YOU know: Boy! or Girl!
